What the Pope quoted on the Prophet and Islam was not appropriate and indeed untimely. Nevertheless I call upon on all Muslims to ignore the incident and not to be overly reactive. Indeed by keeping cool will only dignified the Muslim and lower the stature of the Pope. Give the Pope the chance to repent if he chooses to. This will show the world that Muslims can be forgiving.

no offense, but this is only an opinion, i think he, the pope, was aiming on the terrorist and not the whole muslims who practice islam. for me, terrorists' have given the religion of islam a bad name. i find islam a very peaceful-teaching religion, and considering that i'm a christian, for me on my part, it only means that i have deep respect towards all muslims and islam.

terrorist justifies jihad through the koran and the whole religion of islam. i have asked some muslims both highly and not highly educated and they both agree that these terrorist are not truly living-up to the true religion. for me, the terrorist have no justification in seeking revenge. sure, an eye for an eye but my question is this:
"if and when you think of the killer as a dirty rotten scoundrel for killing ur family. then y stoop down to his level if u know u are not like that and if u have faith in ur god?" i know it's better said than done, but for me, that is a true test of faith. and how u move on with your life is ur answer to that test.

The derogatory remarks of the Pope about the philosophy of jihad and Prophet Mohammed have injured sentiments across the Muslim world and pose the danger of spreading acrimony among the religions
The remarks do not express correct understanding of Islam and are merely wrong and distorted beliefs being repeated in the West.
I am really astonished that such remarks come from someone who sits on top of the Catholic church which has its influence on the public opinion in the West
Muslims have the right to be angry and hurt by these comments from the highest cleric in Christianity

Why do Muslims take offense?

Do they not beleive in freedom of speech and freedom of expression, if so then the PResident of Iran better shut up about what Hitler did or didn't do and Osama better shut up about World Islam. It is OFFENSIVE TO US, but we are also forgiving and if they mend their ways we will let bye-gones be bye-gones.

That ain't gonna happen. There will be no world islam. The World will not stand for it.

If Islam keeps on it's current path there will be a crusade to end all crusades and this time it will be Russia, China, NATO and the US and we will simply split up the Middle EAst and Africa between outselves.

The Pope did not say that Islam became violent. He reported that a Byzantine King questionned the validity of a faith that makes use of the considered jihad to transform human beings to its ideals.

The Pope has no reason to apologize, he quoted a 14th century emperor and it was taken out of context. I know of no other religion in recent history that has been as militant, radical, and terroristic as the Islamic radicals. Almost all terrorist acts have been in the name of Islam, all beheadings, suicide bombing, and torture has been in the name of Islam. The rest of the world should demand an apology from the Islamic clerics, and a pledge for them to stop the senseless violence done by these so called true believers.

To "rnd1938"

We “Muslims” don’t kill Christians… I don’t know from where you got this idea? We don’t have army in USA or Europ murdering and raping kids. But thanks a lot for doing your best to establish democracy in our country!!

Muslims respect Christians, check Islam and Mohamed’s history since the beginning, the Christian king in Africa gave the great support to Muslims and to Mohamed.

In Islam rules it is forbidden to destroy a churches and Mosqus as well

We live with Christians and we have churches. Go and ask Christian about their life in Arab world.

Just make sure before you judge.

It wasn't an accident. They just want you idiots to stand up and be accounted for, so we can shoot your asses before you shoot us. Thanks for being a dumbasss. Muhammed will save you, after he downloads the latest bestiality video from hell. Muslims can only show the world hatred, barbaric death and bad teeth.
Have a nice day.

The pope is just some silly guy in a hat.

He has no legal authority, and is not elected through a Democratic process.

This is all a load of crap, and once again, the media has taken it too far.

He won't repent, nor should he.

In the end theres going to be a buttload of Muslim deaths over their typical overreaction. Can't really say that I'm not looking forward to it.
