Hi. I am interpreting a novel but so many barriers are blocking me not go go forward. I need your help.

-------------->

I sensed that the notary's relations with Richard had changed, and from this I was profiting in a rather unexpected way, since Mark's relations with me had changed too. Although offered a far more substantial morsel than in the past, his curiosity disdained it. At one time he had given me excelletn advice on the management of my future fortune, and today it did not even occur to him to ask himeslf how on earth I was reduced to accepting charity.

------------------>

I can't understand from Although to the rest. Could you interpret them sentence by sentenc for me?
I really need your help.

I sensed that the notary's relations with Richard had changed>>> I could tell that the notary (public official who oversees contracts and stamps documents) was acting different towards Richard.

and from this I was profiting in a rather unexpected way, since Mark's relations with me had changed too>>> I did not expect it but I was profiting from the change because Mark was acting different towards me as well.

Although offered a far more substantial morsel than in the past, his curiosity disdained it.>>> He was given the chance to have a larger percentage of money (most likely) than he had before, but he was curious so he did not like it.

At one time he had given me excelletn advice on the management of my future fortune>>> Earlier he had given me information on how to take care of my money so it would be safe in the future.

and today it did not even occur to him to ask himeslf how on earth I was reduced to accepting charity>>> But today he was not even thinking about me or how I had become so poor that I had to ask for things from other people.

Hope it helps.

Ok here goes.....
Although offered a far more substantial morsel........disdained it.

This basically means that the guy had been offered more now than in the past, he was still a little weary of the offer.

The next sentence is basically saying that the guy had once given him advice on money issues, probably unwanted advice due to the fact that he was going to receive a fortune, but today the guy didn't even bother to inquire as to why he was accepting a handout.

<>Although offered a far more substantial morsel than in the past, [A larger amount or piece of allotted before] his curiosity disdained it. [his wonder refused it.]. (Not really sure what the context is there, but that is the meaning of the sentence).
At one time he had given me excellent advice on the management of my future fortune, and today it did not even occur to him to ask himself how on earth I was reduced to accepting charity. [He had told me how to manage my upcoming wealth, but now it did not down on him to ask why I was poor.].
