hello everyone,
I have downloaded itunes and started the radio but all this bufflering or whatever is driving me nuts, I mean how do you think someone can listen musics with so much iterpretion?!. My be It's because I use a dail up connection of 128kb/sec but why the heck is wrong with it. The dowmload speed is not more than 4kb/sec I mean what the heck happened to the remaining 124kb/sec. Any way I searched for the word "modem booster" in google and got a lot of softwares I just wanna be sure if it would really solve my problem?
OOHHH and please tell me which one of those boosters I should use.
And should I be posting this question here?

If you are dialup, your highest download speed could only be 56kbps! Many other variables including how many people are downloading, how many people are on your node, how much crap you have running in the background that is accessing the net, ETC! I have yet to find dialup that exceeds 50kbps to begin with! Boosters? LOL! dont chit yourself! The only reason they supposedly boost your connection is because they direct you to sites they are affiliated with and dump the rest!

Windows uses 20% of your bandwidth Here's how to Get it back

A nice little tweak for XP. Microsoft reserve 20% of your available bandwidth for their own purposes (suspect for updates and interrogating your machine etc..)

Here's how to get it back:

Click Start-->Run-->type "gpedit.msc" without the "

This opens the group policy editor. Then go to:

Local Computer Policy-->Computer Configuration-->Administrative Templates-->Network-->QOS Packet Scheduler-->Limit Reservable Bandwidth

Double click on Limit Reservable bandwidth. It will say it is not configured, but the truth is under the 'Explain' tab :

"By default, the Packet Scheduler limits the system to 20 percent of the bandwidth of a connection, but you can use this setting to override the default."

So the trick is to ENABLE reservable bandwidth, then set it to ZERO.

This will allow the system to reserve nothing, rather than the default 20%.

I have tested on XP Pro, and 2000
other o/s not tested.

Don't know what country you are in, but in the US, you can only get 53k out of a 56k modem. So how are you getting 128?? Most dial-up ISP's now have accelerators. That can give a X 5 increase in most cases. Most are now free for that too.
