It's our freedom and diversity that make US the nation we are. Many countries had slavery and they haven't achieved the same.
Native Americans weren't exterminated, over 200 tribes are still active in the US today. Many people you view only as Black or White, have some Native American blood in them also.
You, like so many ignorant people, mention that whites enslaved blacks, yet fail to mention that whites and blacks fought against slavery and won. Why is that??? Do you care? By remembering the evil and forgetting those who fought against it, gives life to the evil and dishonors the good. Consider which side you're on, being nice to people based on their skin color is the same as being mean to them. The party who fought for equality during the Civil War, fights for equality today. The party who enslaved, lost the Civil War, still exists today, fights for inequality, but claims the opposite. It's clear as day, if you allow yourself to see it. Study some history, then you will realize why one group ignores history and the other studies it. It's easy to say White Americans did this and that, but if you forget the White Americans who stood in opposition, then you never learn "WHY" White Americans did what they did. Why did some Whites think slavery was OK, why did some Whites think it wasn't OK? They both had their reasons, both believed they were right, only one believed/knew the other was wrong.
You know this occurred and you know we still live with it. Now figure out "Why" it occurred, so WE can prevent it from occurring again. Please hurry though, history is about to repeat itself. However, there's no guarantee of it playing out the same way...

Lets see I am Native American and I am alive so I was not savagely murdered. My best friend is Black and he was never a slave. No one alive today can say that THEY were savagely murdered or enslaved. So I feel that regardless of what happened in the past it is the past. This country gives everyone the ability to do the best THEY chose to do. It is up to you to become what you want to. Any limits are set by your own self.

I don't think killing people and enslavement of people is a good thing no matter was the prize is. I'm glad that we are a great nation but it would have been nice to get to this point some other way.

It was not only WHITE AMERICANS murdering the Indians. CHECK YOUR HISTORY. Besides that was along time ago. It was stupid to enslave the Africans but unfortunately it was done. But its not any more. All Americans I know would never except that now even the Hispanics. Unless they were psycho.

That's a useless question. What is the point of trying to apply today's morals to periods in history? People start out primitive and it takes a long time to reach civilized.
