Excellent point, especially when the Muslim mullahs have apologized for nothing throughout the centuries, let alone the quotes they freely make directly on Christianity, Jesus and the Bible. When was the last time you heard an apology from any mullah for any crime committed for Mohammad or in the name of Islam ? Never! Why blame the pope for quoting someone else on the evil of jihad ? Is jihad in the wanton killing of non-Muslims holy and pleasing to God ? Wasn't that the point he made ? Duuuh!

what' sad, is he was only quoting someone else from 500 years ago, andall they heard was the stupid quote, not the rest of the speech.Muslim clerics are for the most part, uneducated fanatics who should be tried for crimes against humanity for what their rulings do to women. these same men who demand reparation from the pope are the same men who routinely, when a man brutally rapes a woman, say just punishment for the deed is to force the woman to marry him and bear his children, They actually say the woman is at fault. These are religious leaders of a peaceful, just religion who stone a woman for speaking her mind, for going outside without her father or brother present, and at the whim of some man who can claim she had sex with some other guy with no proof. These are the peaceful, loving leaders who when a woman complains her husband or father beats her, tell the man to beat her harder next time. these are the leaders who tell parents to kill a daughter if she marries a man they don't choose? Yup, they really need apologies, apologies that thy weren't drowned at birth.

I think our muslim brothers misunderstood what Pope Benedict was trying to say. Although I certainly hope that no Christian in any part of the world would get their heads cut off or get blown up by a fanatic because of it,but somewhere in the back of my mind, as appalling as it may be, I’m afraid the inevitable will happen

I cant help but wonder what is behind the comments-historically the catholic ch.and the moslems are bitter enemies,to wit the crusades were catholics fighting moslems, and both these groups are intent on proselyting the whole world, and today the islamic lot are growing very aggressive,so to stop them I believe the catholic lot are going to rise up to stop them,a big stoush is in the making.Watch them and pray you dont become embroiled in it.

The Pope should not apologize. I saw the entirety of his comments and there was nothing offensive about them.
I wholly agree with you....especially about the Muslim clerics who constantly say offensive things about Jews, Christians, and other religions and they are never pressured to apologize for their offenses.

I agree completely with what Pope Benedict said. However, whether they should apologize or not is another question, I suppose it depends on what other interests the Vatican may have other than the truth, which as a political entity they must take into account.

I agree, muslims are the biggest hypocrites on the planet. They can never get along with anyone because they can't even be at peace with each other. All they know how to do in life is kill.

Pope or not, everybody is entitled to have his say. but maybe, the Pope should have exercised more tact for the very reason that he is a Pope and as such, he should've known that his views and comments will be watched by a lot of people :)

No religious nut needs to apologize about anything they say, just get out the guns and road-side bombs and settle this like men.
Is religion becoming a more serious disease or are we just more able to diagnose it because of faster communication?
