Just wondering, do most people consider suicide atleast once in thier life? I know that it is believed that everyone has a time of major depression in thier life (like after the loss of a loved one) but do they think about killing themselves? And, i don't mean just thinking things like what if i killed myself, what would happen, who would come to my funeral, i mean like really thinking about it, and wanting to end. I know most ppl think of suicide in a causual way at one time or another, but i mean serious. I'm just wondering, because i've been thinking about culture and stuff. Any replys would be great, thanks! =)

I should add, I am not thinking about suicide. I am just curious as to whether others do. Sorry for any confusion.

Yes, I believe some people do.

There was once I thought of commiting suicide seriously. Something had bothered me and I was in so much misery I thought I wanted to end it all. I wanted to jump down from a building. Then someone talked me out of it and I suddenly realise it was a stupid thing to do and then I changed my mind instantly.

Come to think of it, I won't ever think of commiting suicide again.

Yes and No,it really is dependant on the indavidual and what influences the indavidual had whilst being raised and on into alduthood. Outside influences have an effect on everyone, if no effect of suicide is presented, one cannot be certain that such a thing even exists. Higly unlikely, but probable.

Yeah, some people think of SERIOUS suicide. 4 years ago, I had a lesbian friend who just broke up with her girlfriend and for the next few weeks she thought of nothing but suicide. The next thing we knew, everyone in our class visited her hospital room after she JUMPED in front of a car!

is that your problem? suicide does nothing but hurt others. it wont hurt you cause your dead. ive thought about it in the past, but only to spite someone else. ive had friends that have done it out of desparation, and if theyd only waited a little while, time would have solved their problem. look at it this way, your going to die anyway, so why speed it up? there are things you can do that might change someones life and you can help others. its a waste.

Well, your right, i guess we all have hidden thoughts of suicide and a sort of sick popularity conest amongst who would be present at our own funerals. but no, to actually contimplate a real suicide is in fact very uncommon. What ever your going through you should seek professional help and address you bad thoughts. no offense though just informing.

There is a difference between casual thoughts about suicide like what the consequences might be and actual suicidal ideation, with plan and intent.

it is only true for mostly smarter ppl...because only stupid people can be happy all the time..the smarter u r, the more u think, the more u think, the more u realize negative...etc...and well i can't speak for all the ppl...but it is true for me...i have thought about it...for real...but i think that people should be strong enough (or maybe even smart enough again lol) to be able to find a reason not to do it....it's hard sometimes though :)

No.
I believe God created me with a specific purpose.
When the purpose is over ,I'll be flying over to my Creator with the angels He has sent.
