It sounds like you have a problem that bothers many people, myself included. Wax build-up. I don't remember what causes it, the Doctor told me once. They sell wax removal kits at most pharmacy's, directions for use are on the package. You might want to follow some advise the doc gave me. "Never put anything in your ear smaller than your elbow" People that are bothered by the problem should refrain from using Q-tips, bobby-pins and other such items to clean the ears. If you prefer to go to your family Doctor (like I did) he has the best method for getting rid of ear wax, the nurse uses this real big syringe looking thing, she gives you a pan to hold, filled with warm soapy water. She draws up the water, places the tip of the syringe just at the opening of the ear.......she lets her rip.......it takes some getting used to, it doesn't hurt at all, but it gets the wax....all of it. It feels so good when your ears are finally clear. GOOD LUCK....LATER

go to the doctor you do not want it to continue to be a problem, plus being that close to your brain an ear infection can be serious stuff not to mention it can permanently damage your hearing. And ear aches have to be one of the most painfull things going. In the meantime take the antihistamines and put cotton in your ears if you sleep with the fan on. I cant sleep with out a fan on me even in the winter.

My professional advice to you is see your health care provider who can do a better exam and assessment of your ears than I can online.
