first get to know why your friend parted with the guy. also see how important and deep is ur friendship. If u think u can afford to lose a friend like this and the same reasons for parting may not be applivcable to you then go ahead but carefully.

you not only lose a friend but much more of yourselves.

I even have cleared my time table & commitments better than as quickly as to make extra time to spend with my spouse. the outcomes substitute into too a lot time to spend together with her and then she does not get sufficient 'on my own time' and that i finally end up bored off my *** an outstanding variety of the week whether it is likewise too late contained in the day to pass out an do something. Talk to your friend first. If she isn't over him you shouldn't let anything develop between you until she is over him or involved with someone else. Why are they broken up? You must know the reasons. If he didn't treat her well, don't get involved with him.
If you have an overpowering need to get to know this guy more, go slowly and don't compare notes with your friend about him. Tell her you would like to be friends with him. It might hurt your friend or if she is more open-minded, she might be happy to see you with her ex.

In my opinion, if you dated him it would simply mean that you have no respect for your friend or yourself. You would be willing to let one man come between you. It does not matter if she is through with him or not...it is just without taste. There are just too many men out there. Here is a quote for you. "Do not do to someone else what you would not want done to yourself".
