If any guy out there is thinking about molesting a little kid but doesn't want to get caught...all he has to do is become a catholic priest? I'm not saying that they all do it, but why do the ones who do always seem to get away with it?

Well that is an easy question to answer I would have thought you would know the answers you are a bright girl... it has been that way for hundreds of years, the law ignores priests that are child molesters because like all catholics a priests just has to confess and it is all right and the law believes that is okay... and of course the catholic church condones it's priest for getting their jollies of at the expense of children or they would do something about it a long time ago instead of rewarding the perv priest. And yes it is an epidemic in the priest hood more than they are willing to let on, from the latest estimate 75 percent priest have molested a child at some point. I wouldn't be to surprised if they have contest to see who has molested the most... Oh they every once in awhile give a priest a token sentence big deal considering how many lifes they have wrecked.
Easy way to fix this of course is to fix all priest or let them have relations with the sex of there choice like Protestants can. There are way fewer perv Protestant men of the cloth than priest for your info.
But Amy you are going to get cut off from the church if you ask questions that the chatholics don't want asked!!

As you said, they don't all do it. Really, while it's inexcusable, it's a small percentage, and many men and women in other professions do the same, so it's not unique to Catholic priests.
Secondly, no one would become a priest just to have access to kids sexually. The process of becoming a priest and the lifestyle overall are so challenging that that could never be anyone's main motive for becoming a priest.
The rate of sexual abuse in our country is shockingly high in any case, and most often, it is done by someone the child knows -- many, many times even a blood relative.

Okay, I'm seriously sick of all the "Catholic priest pedophile" questions out there. Let's set the record straight, okay? Protestant ministers have done the same thing, so have fathers of the children they molest. Why aren't protestant ministers put under the same microscope that Catholics are? Are Protestant ministers seen to be as evil as Catholic ones? Are fathers seen as an evil? Once a man has a child, he's automatically going to molest said child? Some mothers abuse their children. Does that mean every woman who has a child is going to molest that baby? Welcome to society! Simply because one out of many commits a hideous crime, the rest of us are guilty and seen as accomplices? Place the blame on those that are guilty. People cheat on their spouses, so that means marriage is bad? Appparantly the sins of one falls on many.

You don't have it all right - just take a look at the national sex registry - it's got a whole lot more than just former priest and religious persons in its line up - it's got dads, people we trusted as good neighbors, people we worked with, women, people we counted as friends, and the list goes on and on - pedophilia is one of the most heinous sicknesses the mind can become prey too - there is no cure and the victim is a victim for life - jail isn't enough for pedophiles, and to sit and watch them gain appeals after appeals, does not make a mother feel any safer for her children. And no one ultimately goes uncaught - sooner or later, they have to answer to the judge of the highest courts, God - and they will be held accountable. But they are not alone in getting away with their crimes - the way our laws are today, most anyone can get away with any crime - there is no longer justice and that's what is sad.

That's absolutely rude. I'm not Catholic but even I think you stepped across a line with this one. There are child molesters in every walk of life, and I might add faith. You should try looking up what the facts really are.

Isn't that a moronic statement? They aren't getting away with it and not all of them do it. Besides, not all molesters are Catholic priests. Some are parents, uncles, cousins, aunts, friends of the family, etc.

Check your news- many priests have been caught, they don't "always" get away with it.
It's a sad state of affairs and no decent human being wants a child or anyone else molested.
The good news is they will all be found out in the end,
"Be sure your sins will find you out."
God is in the process of wiping out evil- It seems slow to us but He's doing it right and when He is done, it will be over once and for all.

I take it you are a protestant, probably an evangelical one. and probably from a group that lets theelders decide the guilt and punishment of people. There are more child molesters in the protestant religion than in thecatholic. its just hushed up, and the child is told he/she is a liar and will go to hell if anyone else is told. Child abuse(physical) is rampant, and spousal abuse is considered normal. so shut the hell up about half a dozen catholic priests from among half a million.

Your statistics are quite incorrect. You are basing your premise on a high profile news event. Just because it is high profile and they had cases for what was it, like 10-20 priests? That's only a small percentage of possibly thousands of non priest pedophiles.
For the same reason that I think religion is bad for humanity, I hate to see humans that are misinformed...

..they shouldn't get away with it.. I heard that child molesters make up 10% of the poulation.. Can you believe it!? And that in the church it's 4%.. If I was a molester, spose I'd consider the catholic church good hunting grounds.. What's wrong with human beings anyway?
