I agree 101% and i think that places other than Australia will agree as well. Other than relocating for a job or witness protection you move because you want to or you move because you don't like where you were living. Why would you move to a place you don't like? If Australia and the US are so bad stop moving here. Stop moving away from your country's who thinks it is OK to be-head people for petty little crimes and then come here and judge us for our laws and beliefs. We don't go to your country and try to get you to change your laws that fit in with Christianity, catholics etc. If you want to live by your beliefs do it in your own country!

I am a first generation Australian born to European parents, so therefore feel I have the right as AUSTRALIAN to vent my spleen! First and foremost Australia has but 1 I in the spelling , however being Australian it will not be held against you.As for what Johnny had to say HEAR HEAR!! Come to the country ,bring yourself and family ..the food, the dress, your diversity, the history .DON'T BRING YOUR RELIGIOUS BAGGAGE If it is as a visitor have a great time.. if you are seeking permanent residency unless you can safely assure most Australians that you would "LAY DOWN YOUR LIFE FOR THE LOVE OF YOUR COUNTRY" do not even bother trying to get in! That being an oath by people of many ethnic backgrounds fighting for FREEDOM under one flag . that flag being AUSTRALIAN. As to the laws of the country ...mate in primary school history I don't seem to recall something called SHARI It sort of went like you vote people into office that you trust , they in turn decide on law , then a vote is taken for yes or no ..HANG ON..I forgot you also have the right to get rid of these people if the majority don't agree. I cannot see why your statement needs clarification If you don't like it here..pack your bags and P**S off!!!!!!!!!!!! for anyone else Come over you would love it!!!

Right on brother! Here in Canada our national police force,The Royal Canadian Mounted Police or R.C.M.P for short got in a little hot water a few years back for refusing a Sihk officer the right to wear a turban instead of the traditional RCMP uniform. The RCMP are world renowned as an elite police force & are recognized by their uniforms. Now I know we are a melting pot of different cultures & so forth but the RCMP forged this great nation & had the impossible task of bringing law & order to the frontier towns which was no easy task.So what gives a "Sihk" the right to bulldoze over our traditions as a country. If I ever had to immigrate to Pakisstan(and thank Christ I don't) I wouldn't bring my hockey stick & skates & demand they build an ice rink so I could practice my native country's favorite passtime. Those who immigrate here seem to forget why they came here in the first place & that was to escape the sh!thole they came from.If they're country is so good & they can't live without their native traditions then get the fu%k out of our country. If you are wondering the RCMP caved under public pressure & allowed the sihks to wear they're turbans & ceremonial daggers while on duty.I can't wait to be pulled over by a "turbaned" RCMP officer......I hope he has a sense of humour,he's going to need it.

Part of me is totally delighted; I mean someone FINALLY said it!

Another part of me is more cautious tho. I mean what's this crap that Costello, "hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country". Hinted? HINTED?

In July of 2005 France ordered the expulsion of twelve Islamofascist imams for preaching anti-Western hatred. I am not making this up. The French, the freaking surrender-monkeys themselves, got up on their hind legs and kicked a dozen raghead Koran thumpers out on their asses.

If France could find that much testicular fortitude then Australia is going to have to do a lot more than just hint about it if they plan to keep their image intact......

Right on. It's about time a major Western leader said this.

Anyone is welcome to be Australian. But if they don't wish to integrate, and if they are fundamentally anti-Australian, then hell yes, they should get out. There are enough problems in the UK because Blair has been too scared of a backlash. It is great to see that John Howard has taken such a stance.

Good for him!

I agree with everything said. If you don't like it, rack off. Find another place to practise whatever it is you practise. If you want to fly a flag from another country, you better dang well fly the flag of the country you are in as well or clear off. The right to leave, or the right to be kicked out, is too true.

THANK YOU........THANK YOU
I applaud you,and Australia. Our country has had to be so politically correct and or so afraid of offending someone we can't even feel comfortable in our own country. My daughter lives in Australia and is christian, and I had always worried about her being there by herself, without family,I feel so much better now,and I have a American flag and a Australian flag in our yard,it was one thing she wanted to put up when she came for a visit.God Bless YOU .thank you

I believe that each country has the right to enforce any law they wish to protect it's people from harm but ONLY in their country. That country does not have the right to impose it's law onto anyone outside of it.

It is absolutely true and it's about time someone spoke up like that! I agree 200% with the message and think it should be repeated in the US and Canada.

No way would he have been able to get away with saying that in the US. We have become such woosies with all the political correctness classes that have been given.
