First off,...Johnny Depp is an awesome actor---but my question relates specifically to Jack Sparrow's character and his role in the POTC series.
They should kill Sparrow off in the 3rd film, seriously. He's always getting into trouble, his little "I-think-I-love-you" entourage with Elizabeth Swann has completely ruined the romantic angle of the franchise, and whenever he plunges under water into a supposed "death" he never DIES.
How are they going to mend Will and Liz's relationship in POTC 3? As a Guy, I would NEVER take Liz back no matter how much I loved her. Seriously, even though she betrays Jack Sparrow, she was totally leaning in for another round of "passionate-dont-care-if-Will-... kissing.
For crying out loud, kill Sparrow and stop the madness. Next thing you'll know---Disney will be whipping up the evil "Pirate Koonta Kinte" as Sparrow's next foe from the Nile River of Egypt, for POTC 4.

She didn't kiss him because she was "into" it, she kissed him because she knew HE'D be into it and it'd be distracting enough so that she could handcuff him all sneaky sneaky. Just because Will saw it and is going to be all butt hurt doesn't mean it's Jack's fault that Elizabeth decided to manipulate him.
So he's pining... so he has a crush on the girl... so he welcomed an advance... big deal. Like he said in the first movie as he was sword fighting Will in the swordshop and after he was accused of cheating - "Pirate!" What else do you really expect from the guy?
Either Will can accept Liz's logical explination and get over it or he can pout and grumble and make it into a huge freaking ordeal. Still not Jack's fault.
I don't want him to die. He was the heart and soul of the first movie and although the second was seriously lacking the magic of the first, he was still the highlight of the film. Of course it would be best if they DID kill him off before they run the character into the ground, so yeah, I think they SHOULD kill him off (even though I don't WANT him dead)... that, or just leave us with a definite conclusion to the story.

I do not think you will find many ppl who want Jack Sparrow to die. Me for one. Jack must live...FOREVER! He is what makes the movie a movie! Heck, he is the movie if you ask me. I love him, he is so talented and creative and funny. I went and saw that movie 3x; I couldn't get enough of it! I can not wait til the 3rd movie comes out. This one just left you hanging thirsting for more. And how Elizabeth passionately kissed Jack at the end in her little plot; I think she also "enjoyed" that kiss as well. There might just be something to that kiss in part 3?? Hmmm? Never know. Will Elizabeth and Will ever get married? We will have to wait and see. But kill off the BEST part of the movie...NO WAY! Are you CRAZY? They could be like the Freddie the 14th and 15 and so on movies..as long as they make Pirates of the Caribbean #15 or 16 or what ever..I will be right there no matter what..(as long as me and the actors/actress's are alive that is).

I happen to love Captain Jack Sparrow and I take offense that you want to kill him off he makes the movie. I could care less about Will Or Liz. I want Jack back!!!!!!!!

Jack Sparrow is great! I take my 10 year old son to it and he has no idea that I am wishing his dad looked like Johny Depp. Do not take my fun away by killing off Sparrow.
