Warrant goes out for you. They won't come looking for you, probably, but if you get stopped for a traffic stop, or for some other reason (or if you call the police for your own reasons) you will probably be taken into jail, after which you'll need a lawyer, need to post bail, pay the original ticket, and pay for your failure to appear on the original ticket.
In addition, you won't be able to do anything through DMV, such as renew your license, renew your car's registration, or register a newly-bought car.
Unless of course the reason you didn't pay is because you went to court and were found not guilty of speeding. Or because the speeding ticket was given to someone else in the first place.

I'm not sure about a speeding ticket, but my husband was bartending and there were minors loitering and he got a ticket for that, which the owners of the bar was supposed to pay because they let the minors in there in the first place. Anyway, they didn't pay the fine and my husband got arrested. So I'm sure that any kind of ticket is the same way. I would pay it unless you want to contest it, then go to court and argue it!

Your license will be suspended. Then next time a cop checks, like if you get pulled over again, or are stopped for questioning, or try to file a police report, anything, they will see that you will have a bench warrant, and you will go spend the night in jail. Then you will stil have to pay the fine, you may get probation, and you license can be suspended for more time. Then if you are lucky enough to keep your insurance, you will definately get hit with a nice rate increase.
Just pay the ticket. The man is going to get his money from you anyway.

julez there is no need to scare the girl :P
i would think that it would be different for each state .. here if you get a ticket and dont pay it right away or by the due date you get another one for like $50 more or something or
i really do not think everyone needs to be saying you are going to get arrested you could though if you wait a really long time and the fine gets really large .. just pay the ticket and get it done with

It greatly depends on your jurisdiction. In my jurisdiction, the citation is actually a summons to court. If you don’t pay the fine before your court date, you’ll have to appear in magistrate court on the date/time listed on the citation to plea your case. But if your found guilty, you’ll have to pay more money then the original fine because of court costs. If you don’t appear on your designated court date found on the citation, you’ll receive a summons by mail or, if that fails, Deputy Sherriff, and if you still refuse to go to court, you’ll be arrested and your licenses will be suspended/revoked. But, like I said earlier, it depends on your jurisdiction.

A warrent then if courtroom. you're accountable and get your license/enable taken far flung from you and/or $5,000 or 6 months or years in detention center. It relies upon up on the courtroom. Ask your mum and dad to help pay for you or ask your friends for the money; inform them you will pay them lower back. Or get a job and take a glance at to make money quickly and artwork over hours in case you will desire to easily to get the money.

Your license will be suspended. Your insurance will be canceled. A bench warrant may issue. In those events, the next time you are stopped while driving you will not get to drive home.
