They aren't "black" but they are dark.

People get the 2 confused all the time, a blackhead is actually a raised area on your skin, it's not raised much but just enough to feel it a little bumpy. A pore is just a small opening in your skin that collects oil and is flat. A blackhead is hard to 'cure' but it can be done WITHOUT squeezing. A pore can be treated to look a little better but unless it's a very large pore (which can be surgically fixed) you will never make them go away. The best treatment for both of these problems is Retin A. It's a very long explanation on how it works so ask your derm. about the specifics. Blackeads can also be extracted by your derm but please don't do it yourself at home, I have seen too many people who have really messed up their faces by squeezing.

Blackheads are simply pores with dirt and oil from your skin in them. So, they are pores. Now, if they have dirt or oil in them, they are also blackheads. Use an astringent. Proactive is a good skin care product. Frequent cleansing of your skin and a good astrigent found at any local pharmacy will help reduce the blackheads.

Believe it or not your skin is made up of things that if you squeeze may look like whiteheads/blackheads, but are just part of your face. Remember too much "playing" with your face will actually make it worse. Just wash your face and if you'd like try one of those inexpensive masks, like Queen Helene Mint Masque. Do not do the biore strip things. They have been proven to do more damage.

they are dirty pores. use a facial scrub cleanser. Find one that has the little gritty things in the cream they scrub out all that dirt. also those Biore strips for your nose work good. Dont try to squeeze them out they will wash out. But you might have to scrub every day.
