Thanks for the definitions. I believe all religions are "cons and protection rackets". In addition, they are scams, hoaxes, frauds, flimflams, deceptions, clever manipulations, tricks, swindles, hustles, gyps, stings, rackets, rip-offs, and lies.

....I think people are individuals and believe what they do (or don't) for good reasons.. based to a degree on society and to a degree on their own observations and experiences.. Christians try to proselytyze and convince others, for two reasons, they are taught those left unconvinced will not escape the grave, or worse, will be in a state of torment forever.. Because of this, they overlook the verses which say "God is the savior of all men" and Christ is the "savior of the world" [ultimately all men, and all the world].. Christians like all people are flawed and imperfect.. In the beginning there was perfection, but then there was thinking ability / 'free-will' - but ultimately perfection wins out, for life (the life force, to be alive) can only be excellent and the end result not only good, but the best.. Otherwise there would be nothing, ever.

In my opinion most organized religions have become Con's Although they do some good compared to the amount of money they take in . I would really like to know how they can be called charities . I would like to know why I should donate when most religious leaders drive brand new cars

It can seem like that, but take a look at the Bible and understand it for yourself. It's not that hard to figure out that these writer's (esp. New Testament) lives were changed dramatically. It's not a con when it makes such a positive impact on your life.

Your question is vague as to what you are trying to imply. People choose their faith as they wish that there is a continuation of the spirit after death and very few countries or even churches dictate the direction of your inner faith. However if you follow a faith, then both the clergy and the structure of the faith must be supported and to comply with the spirit of the teachings, funds are needed. But if your interpretation of religion is true, then most of the humanitarian agencies would also fall into the same class, and would involve most agencies of the UN. Every member nation is required to pay to support FAO, UNESCO, WHO, etc. Sorry, but I believe you are just trying to gain one up with very little logic.

HELLO, I liked your question about education but wanted to know about respondents education and religious denomination. I like data and I bet the respondent's data would support the conclusion of the article.

A con entails a short-term plunder. Protection racket entails an enduring parasitical plunder. Like syphilis. Like Religion.

Yes, possibly Religion, but not Christianity in the raw. Religion is man made, Christianity is Christ made. Christianity is not a religion, it is a life with our Lord. We are Christ followers. God said to be perfect, just as he is perfect. We try our hardest, but it is humanly impossible, only Jesus accomplished this. Trust in Christ today, it will be the best choice you have ever made, you can believe that brother. Godbless.
