my Tabs are good.....just my inspection sticker is expired

This one actually got me thinking this morning.
In Mo. we have the car inspected and can get 2 year tabs, the things that stick on to the plates, proof of ins, personal property tax receipt to get them.
The inspection sticker itself does not expire, as they remove the month and year spots that the inspection was done. There is nothing that says it expires. When the tab expires, we have to do the song and dance again to get new ones.
I don't see how you can have an expired inspection sticker and have legal plates on the same car. But then again, I don't live there.
You can have your car inspected one month and four months later have to get your new plates? How weird. At least for me.
I've also heard that in Indiana they don't require inspections at all, they turn them loose on the roads until they fall apart. (Heard that about 15 years ago, it could be different now).
Learn something new everyday. I actually like it like that. Keeps the brain in shape.

You could move to Arkansas or Florida.
They no longer require Inspection Stickers.
Just new License Tags.
I lived in both.

Would they require an inspection and then not penalize people for not getting one, or having a dead one? I doubt they go through all that for their health.

yes, its not properly registered and can be a big or small fine, depending on where your at, in missouri, johnson county its only $52 and jackson county its $100... so it can vary alot.. check with your local courthouse

YES YES AND YES.....WHAT ARE TABS ....THEY LOOK FOR THE DATE ON THE STICKER....ITS NOT WORTH IT....ITS A HEFTY FINE

Absolutely you can. It's as required as tags or insurance.

yeah that is if you get caught, so lay low and get it fixed, cause if it's the exhaust insp. they can suspend your plates (that is how they do it in Illinois)
