Especially in horror movies. Christ! I remember when I went to see "House of 1000 Corpses" and there was a woman their with her two year old and and infant (and her husband). Look, I know you want to get out of the house, but can't you find something else to do other than subjecting your child to a horror movie (and subjecting the other movie goers to your children)?

I have a nine-month-old that has never stepped a foot inside a movie theater. I me and the missus attempt to go out to see a movie, we ask her mother to watch him. If she wasn't available, we would hire a babysitter for a few hours.

i don't know why they do it either. My husband and I went to see the dawn of the dead remake (we left our 4 year old with grandma) and someone had brought a 3 or 4 year old little girl. She was terrified, she started screaming horribly when the zombies were eating people and the parents would not take her out. In fact, the mother kept yelling at her to shut up. We had to complain to the management until they were forced to leave. Poor kids probably scarred for life. There should be an age limit for horror movies because it seems like no one knows how to parent anymore.

Oh my honey! I agree with you!! I'm a parent of two. We did take our first born to the theater once. It was a late show. He was tiny. I knew I could nurse him and he'd fall asleep and there would be no problems. I was right. But that was the only time. I get so annoyed when I see people walk into a movie with little kids in tow. It is not appropriate and it is rude. Can't they get a sitter? I've even walked out a few times before the movie has even started. You can usually tell within the first 10 minutes if a child is going to behave or not. But even more than the annoyance of the screaming child is the fact that people don't care what their little kids are watching!!!

IOkay a horror movie? That is just sick, those parents are obviously not fit to be parents. am a mother of a 5 year old and a 11 month baby. Even at 5 I really don't think a child has the need to go see any kind of movie at the theaters. My hubby and I had been looking soooo forward to see Superman returns, and a few other movies but our baby was still very small and although I was totally tempted to take them I just knew it would be way too much noise going on for my kids not to mention the fact that movies take more than a couple of hours sometimes. Total torture for kids. Just as bad as when parents go to amusement parks and wait a couple of hours to get in one of those grown up rides and then they swap kids to take turns to ride. What to the small kids get out of it, absolutely nothing!. Sooooo cruel!!!! Going back to the movies; on the other hand I think it's rude to have your kids cry and interrupt the movie. We have not gone to the movies in sooo long for this reason. Sometimes we do get frustrated since it's not always easy to find a baby sitter but I just keep thinking our kids will grow sooner than we think so we have to be patient. There is a Movie theather in Santa Monica CA that is specially for mothers and their babies. Too bad I live a little far, other wise that would be a fab choice for now!

I agree with you 100%. I don't care WHAT the movie is...if the infant or toddler can't be knocked-out with codeine, don't bring it to the movies. Movies are too expensive now days to waste an evening or afternoon listening to someone else's problem cry or whine through a two hour show. Absolutely the rudest situation, tied with the idiots that sit and talk on their cell phones in the movies or restaurants. I'm a mom and I don't ever remember taking my children to the movies when they were too young to sit quietly through the show...it's more relaxing for the parents and other moviegoes alike if you leave the little ones with grandma or a sitter. Get a freakin' clue. Not everyone thinks your baby or toddler is as welcome as you do in the theater. Wait three months and rent the video.

I agree to that.
If the child is not going to be watching the movie : infant. There is no reason to bring the child.
If the movie has nothing to do with the child's development and will most likely scare the child or expose the child to adult activity, then there is no reason to bring the child.
If can't get babysitter or someone to watch the child either A) Don't go or B) Go to a family event for all ages.
I will express my opinion if a women or man brings their young children to a movie that shows a lot of violance and sex in it. If not removed, I will file complaint.
I love children and work with them etc. However, when I go to a movie, I expect to watch the movie and hear the movie scripts. Not hear crying, fussing, whinning and 1,000 questions of "why they doing that? Where they going" all through the movie.

Omg! A two year old and infant seeing House of 1,000 Corpses!? That's horrible! You're right, that's way too young to be seeing an R-rated movie! That needs to be stopped. Maybe if multiple people went on strike at different movie theaters... seriously, I'm not being stupid. I had nightmares when I was a young child BECAUSE of scary movies! I'd hate to see that happen to another kid.

As a serious note, many folks get really sick from the huge mass of germs in a movie theater... There is gum stuck under the seats, ages old residue on the floor, and lots of kids and their siblings have done everything including poop and vomit in the seats!
New born babies should not be taken out or exposed to other kids for a few weeks after birth, I would suspect! But, you know, there is nothing better for a marriage than a kid up all night, with ear aches and a cold... or, diarrhea!

Never. Some people are just to selfish to realize they're bugging the piss out of those who pay to watch a movie uninterrupted. I have a 6 year old, and a 3 month old. I didn't take my son to the movies until he was 3. If I wanted to go to the movies with my husband before that, we got a babysitter. If we couldn't get one, we didn't go.

I absolutely agree! I thought it only happened here in Bahrain!
It is so selfish on every count: other movie goers, the child in question, the staff who have to deal with our complaints.
I remember going to a graphic crime movie by mistake.I had thought from the title that it was one of those semi- comic buddy cop films.
In the row in front were a couple and their three kids all under 5. Within the first few minutes there was a wide screen prolonged and graphic shot of a man having his throat cut.
The couple were sitting forward in their seats and as I turned my head away not being able to watch it, I saw two of the youngsters standing on seats watching the screen absolutely transfixed.
At that point my friend and I got up and left the cinema.
It told me everything I needed to know about why the world is going to hell in a bucket.

You know what i have a kid but i have to agree with you if we arent goin to see Cars or whatever the newest CARTOON movie out then he wont be coming. Now if i cant get a babysitter then so be it we all stay home. I think its stupid to have a baby in a movie thats not going to hold their attention yet along bringing a newborn that may cry only when it seems the movie gets good. so yea i agree totally
