I'm a freshman in highschool and boys are starting to call me ''fire-crotch'' to my FACE and yeah I've been called that before but not to my face so I felt so stupid and didnt know what to do. I just hate the fact that when some guys look at me thats all they think about and some dont like it so they dont like me. Its wierd but I just need a little advice on how to handle it.

Say to them

" I can dye my hair tomorrow and look great, while you are still going to wake up stupid! ( or ugly) "

Or just ignore them sweetie, redheads are hot!

This might sound nasty too...but, if you are really tired of it. Say" Is your fire hose long enough to put it out?" Redheads are hot and maybe they are just jealous. Ya gotta figure it's just guys and at this age they do not know how to handle their emotions. Guys say things...stupid things! Put them in there place with a wise a s s statement and they will leave you alone. OR you can get some blonde streaks put in it to spice it up! Go to a stylist and see what they say about your hair. You could be just too worried about it and if you change the color a little bit maybe it will take the heat off. Just a suggestion hon.

These guys are scum and their opinion of you doesn't matter because they don't matter.

It's a long time since I was in high school, but if this is typical behaviour these days it's becoming a very sad world indeed. I really feel for you.

I would be tempted to come back with some put downs, but that may only inflame things. Best just to walk away without giving any reaction at all. Don't even blink. Only fight back if you are cornered. If they don't get a response they may try harder. If it looks like going that way, have a strategy prepared in advance.

The bottom line is this. They are ignorant, insensitive and have major feelings of inadequacy. The best way to hurt them is to embarass them in front of their peers or their girlfriends. Try to deliver your barbs politely and diplomatically. Let them be the ones to lose their cool.

Don't let it get to you. I know that it's hard but you have to understand that boys in high school are ignorant and that is all it comes down to. Just remember that being a redhead is not a bad thing, people pay good money to have red hair. There isnt really anything you can say to them cause it will just add fuel to the fire if they know they are getting to you. Hold your head up this phase will pass and they will move on if they think it doesnt bother you. Good luck and I'm sorry guys are jackasses!

I'm sure ur really cute! The hottest girls I've seen or been attracted to were redheads, right now I have a huge crush on this redhead chick and she is the prettiest girl i have ever seen absolutely drop dead goregous! Your very young and boys can be mean in high school, don't let them get u down but u must stand up for yourself or they'll keep bullying u, I'm sure as time goes on you'll develop into a lovely young lady by the time your a senior in high school, take care.

Hate to tell you, but you are going to have to stand up to them. While most people tell you to ignore idiots, and they will go away because it's no longer "fun" to pick on you; I disagree. I found out the hard way that if you don't respond and take the high road, they will only find worse things to call you, or even start to do things.

I'm not a redhead, I'm a blonde who developed a little too early, and a lot too big in the bust. So in Jr. high I thought I was being the better person by walking away and ignoring the jerks. I heard all the advice about why it was better, they will get bored, they will stop, blah, blah, blah. Guess what? Not only did it continue, it got worse the longer it went on. When the comments didn't get a reaction, some of the people started to go further. It took me the better part of two years (and by then I was in high school) to stand up for myself, but when I finally did, it stopped.

You need to find a good comeback. What they are calling you isn't as bad as you think, so try not to let it get to you.
After they call you "fire-crotch" respond (a few ideas)

"How would you know, you've never seen it and you never will."
"Maybe I am, maybe I'm not. That's for me to know, and you to NEVER find out."
"So what if I am? I could dye it tomorrow, but you would still be an idiot/moron/looser!" *Your choice of word here*

Other general insults:
"Roses are red, violets are blue, God made me pretty, what the hell happen to you? "
"I'm trying to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my butt."
"Mirrors don't talk, and lucky for you they don't laugh."
"Don't let your mind wander. It's way to small to be outside by itself!"
"I had a nightmare. I dreamt I was you."
"Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but you abuse the privilege."
"If you are going to act like a dick, at least wear a condom on your head to look like one so everybody knows in advance."
"Cancel my subscriptions ... I'm tired of your issues."
"It looks like you fell out of the ugly/stupid tree and hit every branch on the way down."
"I'm sorry, I can't think of an insult that is stupid enough for you."
"You have your whole life to be a jerk, so take a day off for once."

This is all I can remember for now, but just say what you think and how you feel. Don't ever let anyone put you down, you are better than that. Also, there are a million MEN who love redheads (including my husband.) If you don't already, you will learn to love your hair, too. As you get older you will see how special red hair is.

Think of all the beautiful women who have red hair (natural or fake), like actress Nicole Kidman, model Emilia, actress Michelle Stafford, actress Isla Fisher, to name a few.

any guy that actually cares about hair colour is an idiot..whether he only dates blondes, brunettes, or redheads..if he is restricting his girlfriends by such a stupid , changable thing like that, then he isnt worth having! like those guys who just LOVE blondes just for being blonde and wont date anyoen else? pathetic. I pride myself on being different because there are many girls who all basically look the same out there and the guys only like them because they have bleached out hair...im not talking blonde, blonde is a very nice colour on some, but im talking the girls who bleach their hair white and it's all frizzed and dried out...and even if they arent pretty guys will still want them. thats ridiculous.

i know it's tough, but try to be happy you're different. there arent many natural redheads out there and that makes you different from most of the other girls. once guys mature a bit they will find it extremely sexy, especially if you think and know it's sexy! so be proud and when they say stupid things like that just roll your eyes, walk away, and go talk to someone worth talking to because you are probably going to be wanted by many guys when they grow up a little.

Don't worry about it! I too have natural red hair and have heard all sorts of crappy things. They used to call me the "Wendy's girl" for years. (I also have a lot of freckles) Just remember that redheads are incredibly rare. Only a small number of the population has really red hair. There are many guys, as you will learn as you get older, that really love redheads. We're known for our fiery personalities!

Also, (I learned this from an irish woman) redheads aren't native to Ireland. (Irish people have naturally dark hair) Redheads are descendants of Danish Vikings!!! So just remember this when they're teasing you...you're ancestors would have just kicked their butt!

Rock on fellow redhead!

Boys can be rather cruel anyway, I would act like I didn't hear them and walk on to where ever I was going. My daughter is also a natural red head with a temper to go with it, the guys wouldn't dare call her such names (she had them thinking that she was into witch craft (doesn't know a thing about it)), It worked beautifully, one boy taunted her so badly she told him she was going to put a curse on him (yes, this was in high school) she didn't see him again for two weeks (he was scared to come to school) he wouldn't go near her when he did return to school.

Good Luck!

there are two different ways to go on this one

ok for starters RIP THEIR FACES OFF

or you could always remember that highschool will be over before you know it and you could dwell on the fact that less then 1% of the population of the planet has made fun of you

after highschool just leave if you never want to see those ppl again if you go far enough guess what

you never will see them again

How IMMATURE! Hun that's not even worth getting upset over, seriously there's nothing wrong with red hair. Those guys just have a lot of growing up to do. I have never heard of someone getting made fun of for having red hair. Just ignore them.. surely enough they will stop... or you could report them to the principal, and they could gladly suspend them for harassment.
