you know, if they spent a little more time and resources towards bettering their lot instead of ranting in the streets, maybe they would have less to gripe about.

Probably....the Pope only wants rejection of the religious motivation for violence

Vatican officials invited Muslim leaders to read the full text of the papal address, saying it would make clear that the pope was speaking in favor of all religions and not against Islam.
It was very important to the pope that there be a "clear and radical rejection of the religious motivation for violence".
The pope did not intend to make a critical assessment of Islam, much less offend Muslims.
The pope's talk focused primarily on the religious shortcomings of the West and the reluctance of truly religious cultures to accept a Western "exclusion of the divine".
A Vatican spokesman said, "What is clear, then, is the Holy Father's desire to cultivate an attitude of respect and dialogue toward other religions and cultures, including, of course, Islam".

I really hope that the pope will sit down with Islamic leaders and that they all show the world how we can come to a peaceful accord. This would be a great example for the rest of us to follow.

They already rioted. Those that did are the brainwashed fanatics that usually go berserk over chicken feces. The Pope really didn't say anything new, but cite historical fact, "Islam was spread by the sword".

Yes, they riot over everything else, thus, justifying the Pope's comments...

Yes, I expect they will. But whether they riot or not, they have shown the world that claims of Islamic peacefulness and tolerance are just hogwash.

Of course they are going to jump all over anything that they can use to slant, distort and self-justify their insanity against the world.

There is nothing the world can do to make Islam happy because in their eyes, unless the world is Islamic, the world deserves destruction so long as it denies conversion.

I don't know if they have actually rioted or not, but they have certainly demonstrated in Lebanon, Iran, Pakistan (I think) and other places. Probably yes.
