I'm not really sure if there's anyway to get rid of it, but I'll try henna, I've heard it's good. and I'll try to never dye my hair again-- that's if henna worked.

DON'T USE HENNA!!!! Someone mentioned henna, and I need to warn you:
Henna coats your hair with metallic salts, which when exposed to other chemicals (perm solution is one of them) is causes intense heat and smoke and will harm you. Not only that, it creates even more buildup on your hair that is very hard to color over.
Now, the hair color buildup...Not sure what you mean. Is it that your hair feels crappy or is your haircolor just getting darker and darker each time you color it?
If your hair feels bad but doesn't look really damaged: Use baby shampoo or citrus shampoo for a couple of washings. This will strip off any waxes that have accumulated on your hair. Follow this with a light conditioner. Don't use one that says anything about building volume or body. Oh yeah, if you color your hair at home, DONT use the conditioner that comes in the hair color box. It's full of wax and will dry out your hair. (It's basically water proofing your hair)
Now, the color, if your hair is getting darker and darker each time you color it: If you're coloring your hair at home, are you pulling the color through your ends each time? Because this is unnecessary. If your ends have faded, then get a semi-permanent or glaze color to use on your ends. This will keep from damaging the hair more than necessary.
If your ends are too dark right now: I do have a trick, but this is something best done by a professional because it can be a little tricky. What you need to do in this instance is a "soap cap". This is a mixture of bleach+peroxide+shampoo, that you "wash" your hair with only on the parts that are too dark. (using gloves of course) After you see the color starting to lighten, (this can happen quickly) you need to wash it out. Then get the hair dry and take a look at the color, usually it's orangy and needs to be toned down with some ashy color in order to make a more natural tone. AGAIN, this is something that I suggest is done by a professional because there is a learning curve to this!
I hope this helps!

Bathe it! It's a technique only us hairdressers know and you need to go to one to have your hair put back into good condition. Your stylist will know ( if you find a good one, and believe me...we are hard to find) hehehe! little joke there, But seriously, you need to maintain your hair and you need regular cuts. They will know what to do...but please..find one you like and is on the same page as you.
