Okay so Ive been trying REAL hard to give up soda & drink water. Problem is though Ilike water a lot of times I want FLAVOR!!! So my question is this, is drinking the flavored waters, ie: Dasani Strawberry(non carbonated) w no sugars/no carbs/no calories still as good for you as drinking plain water?? I already know they contain Splenda & that isnt too great for you but Im diabetic & real sugar is worse for me than Splenda so I guess its the better of 2 evils.....will I still benefit from giving up the soda??
Just so you know I drink A LOT everyday. Also I have noticed Ive lost a few pounds already so Im hoping my method is okay

The flavored water would be better for you than the soda for sure. I gave up all soda about a year ago and I've not only lost weight but I actually do feel better. I was so addicted to caffeine and I didn't even realize it. I don't have sugar highs and low anymore its great.
I drink a lot during the day too. I switched to tea with out sugar. I make green tea because it's mild and supposed to help with the metabolism and it has flavor. Plus where ever you go out you can always order tea.
You could make your own flavored water and that would probably be even better than what you get in the store. Fill up a bottle water but leave room for a small amount of lemon juice or cranberry juice. It would flavor the water just enough without adding too many calories or too much sugar.

Don't do carbonated water - it is not good for you - dehydrates actually because of the carbonation (so does soda). I drink tap water - but I squeeze a bit of lemon into the water. It is really good that way and real lemon is great for you. Try it - put just a little in the water at first and see what you think. I do more than most people but I really love lemons. I use limes as well at times. I have gotten about 15 people around me into the habit now.
Keep up the great work on watching your calories.

Squeeze some lemon or lime or orange into a glass, then fill with plain water.
Or keep a pitcher of water in the fridge, with some lemon, lime, orange, or mint leaves in it and drink that. (Heck, put anything in it, the water will pick up the flavor -- experiment until you find a few things you really like, then rotate among them for variety.)
There's lots of ways of getting flavored water without getting cr*p along with it.

Hi dear
yeah i think its a good idea for giving up soda. well as you are diabtic, defintly soda is not good for you so. but the better advice for you is try to use plain soda wich is even much better then water. you can first switch to Flavord and slowly to plain. the Plain soda will keep your stomach clean.
so in the beginning drink as much u can as it will be really helpful an as you are already lossin pounds so best of luck!!!!
take care

Have you tried crystal light? There are many different flavors and they have few calories. They also come in packs so you can take several packs with you and just dump one into a 20 oz bottle of water, shake it and enjoy.

Add something like a small serving of juice to one of those big mugs of water. Someone I know does that with cranberry juice cocktail and likes it a lot.
