French and italian bread are almost the same thing. Italian bread is usually more plumper,shorter and less crispier then french bread. And sometimes bakers put sesame seed on top of their italian bread.

French Bread is crustier and softer in the center.

Italian Bread is denser, it has a nice crust, but not as crusty as French.

really hardly any difference if you bake two different recipes 1 of each and shape and bake the same way...then tell your what the difference...........the french do like a crustier bread than the Italians
