Okay this is really embarassing but I need your help....I'm 14 years old and for a few months I've had this small, bluish grayish spot right above my anus. It's about the size of an eraser on a pencil and it's never been painful or bothered me or anything. But now I've recently wondered if it could be something serious!? I don't really want to tell me parents since it's so weird but I don't want to become ill either! Does anyone know what this could be, and what I should do!!?

There are many benign (non-dangerous) things it could be. But since it's something that has possibly popped up in the last few months, you need to get it checked.

It may be possible it's been there since you were little, and you just haven't noticed it...or it truly may be new.

There are benign moles that can look bluish/grey, but there's no way of telling what it is unless you get it checked out. Don't put it off...tell your mom or dad and get in to see your doctor soon.

I wonder why it would grow to that size in few months and how could you tell the color so vividly. When it gives no pain, it should be some excess growth of tissue that tends to occur on our skin like moles, moles of that size take longer time to develop than say in a few months or it must be there from birth or since childhood. Better a doctor sees it might be change in pigment and has always to be examined and felt by doctor to know what exactly it is. Most discolorations are harmless (benign), but one never knows. . Or it might be some kind of rash or skin ailment or much number of things. Don’t be scared and tell your parents without fail. The skin matters take longer time to cure. What is important is to act fast and inform someone without feeling embarrassed.

You need to get checked by your doctor. If it is a melanoma (cancer) waiting and seeing what happens could be a very dangerous thing to do. It could just be a wart but might not be. Just swallow your pride and self-consciousness and tell your mom or dad. Sometimes you have to put feelings aside with something this important.

How did you see it and why did you look in the first place? Compare it to pics of anus on yahoo images. I donnu what to tell you is it a bruise? That area tends to be discoloered but blue/grey?

You need to be able to communicate this type stuff with your parents. I can tell you don't have open communication with your parents, because if you did, you would not hesitate to talk to them. Anyhow, you should get it checked out. Talk to someone who can take you to the doctor, It's gotta be an adult. Good luck!!

if you don't want to tell your parents...can you confide in your school nurse? If not, tell your mom or dad that you just don't feel well and need to go see the doctor...make something up if you feel that strongly about not telling them...

If it is growing, itchy, flaky, or painful in anyway...you definitely need to speak to someone soon! Take care...

Tell your parents or at least your mom and go see a doctor or keep an eye on it and if anything on it changes see your doctor, but tell your mom anyways.

Good luck.

It sounds more like a mole or a birthmark to me. Ask your parents (...better off going with mum...at least you know she was there when someone would've noticed) if it was there when you were born.

Alright first of all you need to make an appointment to your doc and go see him, it might be serious.

Hope nothing is serious. Good luck.
