Caner is not contagious from one human to another. Are you asking is cancer genetic? Yes, it can be. If it runs in your biological family, there could be a chance that you will get cancer, too. The best thing to do is eat right, take vitamins and exercise. Tell your doctor your family history, so that they may run the proper test on your annual check-ups.
Remember, just because your parents have it doesn't mean you will. For now do what you can to help them and enjoy your life, as the wonderful individual you are.
Good Luck and Take Care

First of all i am sorry about your parents..and i know its hard to deal with a disease that is almost impossible to fix..my heart goes out to you..
Is cancer contagious?
No, cancer is not contagious. There is no reason to avoid people with cancer, and in fact they probably need your support and understanding.
We now know that some cancer genes are hereditary and so several family members may have the same or related types of cancer. But this does not mean the cancer is contagious - it is an inherited genetic disorder. Some people carry faulty or altered genes that increase their risk of cancer.
Human papilloma virus (HPV), a virus that causes 70 per cent of cervical cancer, is contagious and is transmitted via sexual activity. However, cervical cancer itself is not contagious.

There are more than 100 types of cancers; any part of the body can be affected.
In 2005, 7.6 million people died of cancer - 13% of the 58 million deaths worldwide.
More than 70% of all cancer deaths occur in low and middle income countries.
Worldwide, the 5 most common types of cancer that kill men are (in order of frequency): lung, stomach, liver, colorectal and oesophagus
Worldwide, the 5 most common types of cancer that kill women are (in the order of frequency): breast, lung, stomach, colorectal and cervical
Tobacco use is the single largest preventable cause of cancer in the world.
One fifth of all cancers worldwide are caused by a chronic infection, for example human papillomavirus (HPV) causes cervical cancer and hepatitis B virus (HBV) causes liver cancer.
A third of cancers could be cured if detected early and treated adequately.
All patients in need of pain relief could be helped if current knowledge about pain control and palliative care were applied.
40% of cancer could be prevented, mainly by not using tobacco, having a healthy diet, being physically active and preventing infections that may cause cancer.

I'm sorry about your folks. You don't get cancer by living with people who suffer from it. Many think it's hereditary, but that's a theory and not a medical fact, so don't worry about it. Life your life and enjoy the time you spent with your family.

No it is not contagious! It's a disease, and therefore you cannot catch it like you can with a flu.
