Is there a special way to breathe(in through the nose out throught the mouth??) while running or what not?
During short breaks should you bend down and place hands on knees or stand erect to catch breathe faster.
How do you push yourself?

When I was into long distance running, I would count my breaths. 3 steps- one long breath in, 3 steps- one long breath out. Believe it or not, I could run for hours w/o getting worn out or a stitch in my side. Usually in through the nose and out through the mouth, just like you said. Just don't breath in through the mouth, you don't want to swallow a bug!

Raising your hands above your head while standing upright opens up your lung capacity. You get a fuller breath with each respiration.

When you are doing hard workouts, definitely breathe in and out through your MOUTH.
Don't breathe too exaggerated though or you'll have to yawn or get light headed.
STAND UP!!!!!!!!! Bending over only slows the oxygen rate going into your body and is bad for your heart.
And on how to push yourself 1) if you mean how to get in better shape over a period of time, I would start off strong and gradually make your routine even harder. 2) how to keep going when you feel like you could fall over dead in a practice, I would focus on a reason to keep going(for example someone who died), but it mainly comes down to endurance and how much will you have.
I 've done research and happen to play 3 sports that involve running so I hope I've helped you!
P.S. Breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth is very good for yoga and aerobics, but not for running....... you get more oxygen through your mouth than through your nose generally. And the more oxygen the better the results!!!
