I dont let my son see the stuff, you all are acting like I hand him a joint and say smoke it, no thats not how it works. one day his dad droped the bag and my son said you droped your dirt, It is never in my house. MY son was in the work shop when that happed. I would however have my bf smoke a lil pot than be a freaking drunk! There aint to many people out there somking and driving and killing others like drunks do. Thats just me has nothing to do with my kid. He doesnt flash his pot around he keeps it away from my kid . I'm not even sure where he heard the word pot. he just asked me the other day if his friends mom smoked pot. I dont know where it came from it was just out of the blue. Just a simple question I didnt ask for judgment. I take great care of my child, its not much different than a kid who says a cuss word.

I dont subject myself to the stuff so why would I let my kid around it...If anything he is just to observant, he could of picked it up from television who knows, I'm not a bad mother beacuse my son said pot.

First of all - if he is 3 then most likely he doesn't know what pot is or that your husband smokes it. Unless of course he does it in front of him in which case, you have more serious issues. Ask him what pot is. Remember the level of the little person you are talking to. He heard the word somewhere and reference to it being smoked but first find out what HE thinks it is. My son once said to me "What are you smoking? Crack?" He was7! I knew he had heard that expresion somewhere. I asked him what crack was and he didn't know. I told him what it was and told him not to repeat what he hears because it could be offensive. Good Luck.

I don't understand. Father not supposed to talk about pot, some young girl is smoking pot and your 3 yr. old knows what it is. Something is wrong here. he shouldn't be around it no way no how. He is that's for sure otherwise he wouldn't have an interest at 3 yrs and you as his mom has the responsibility to keep him away. If he speaks out in school, oh well, why not!!! His brain cells are being burnt out every time h inhales second hand smoke from any source and I think you have more problems than this poor little 3 yr. old that has conversations about pot with grownups when he should be learning his ABC'S or other useful information.

HELLO???? If his father does it, he will probably do it too. His father is showing him it is OK to do. This is ridiculous!! How does he know the name 'pot' anyhow? He will go to school and say something. When he gets older school will teach him it is illegal and because you think it is OK for daddy to smoke this stuff, your son will be confused and scared and withdraw. At an older age, like middle school he will try it and stay with it if his dad does it. Your son has probably been high so many times already its not funny. Show him how to drink and do a line of coke while your at it.

Well by this question I think your child has been in very close proximity of this stuff. Whether or not you accept his dad smoking it it should never be done around a child. He could inhale it very easily like cigarette smoke. So the only thing you can do is make sure he is NEVER around the stuff and he will eventually stop taking about it.

Whoa! At three he shouldn't have a clue about "pot"! It's o.k. by you to have him exposed to an illegal drug? To take a chance of Children's Services stepping in? He's callin' it "pot"(he used to call it dirt), he's asking you if this girl smokes it (you gonna lie to him?),he knows it's BAD(does he think dad's bad and everyone who smokes pot, is bad?), and if you really don't have a problem with it(pot), then why care what he'll say in school...Respectfully, Granny

First let me say, I could care less what drugs people do or what people do in their personal lives. But if you asked your son's dad to NEVER have it around your son, why would your son call it "dirt" to begin with? Why would he even know what it is? My husband smokes cigarettes but my kids have no idea what a cigarette looks like. They aren't allowed to be brought in the house and my husband doesn't smoke them outside in front of them.

If his dad showed it to him then his dad should be the one to explain why it's not a good thing to do. He should have to deal with exposing a little child to drugs. That's my view on any drug around kids including street drugs, alcohol (yes it's a drug), cigarettes or anything of that nature. None of it belongs around kids.

it is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE for him to even KNOW what that is. Thats Rediculous! If you didnt want him knowing about it then you shouldnt have allowed him to ever even been NEAR it!You need to not let him around that stuff or he is gonna end up doing it just like his dad. 3 yrs old is no age to even have a CLUE about that..Some people just need to grow up themselves first before having children....if you cant lead by good example...you shouldnt have had a kid.
