If I were working with a pushy person I would try to steer clear of them. When you have to be around them you might try seeing their way of thinking and if you don't agree just say, "What do you think about trying it this way?' If you act afraid of them they will become more pushy so the best thing to do is ignore their bad behavior and change the subject to something that they can't be forceful about. Smile at them and ask if they have had a bad day, they may see themselves the way others see them.

Generally let them push themselves to their own limits. Then ask a simple, confounding question that leaves the impression that I'm the one that's being pushy for taking over the situation.

You mean pushy as in literally pushing you? slug him. If you mean pushy as in they hve a forceful personality and are bossing you around, I look at what they want, and try not to let them have it. I'm subtle about it- I just won't give in to what they want unless it's in my best interest. If a salesperson is laying it on thick, for instance, I can see right through that and won't let it affect my decision to purchase or not.

You have to push back and show them where you stand! If you don't they'll just keep pushin' you more. Its sad but pushin' back is all some people understand
