Im considering getting some Amtico flooring and wondered if anyone that has it can let me know what they thing? What are the pro's and con's?

Absolutely brilliant flooring, (and I have no connection with the Company!). But, get it laid by an Amtico trained tiler and make sure you use the correct products for sealing and cleaning.

Amtico flooring is a good, hard wearing flooring, but it comes at a price, a very big price. As someone said earlier you should always get an amtico approved fitter to lay the flooring, ensure he uses the correct amtico adhesive and that the floor is even. 6mm plywood is often layed down before the amtico (especially in bathrooms). Only a personal opinion but if your keen on the look of amtico flooring but dont want to pay that amount of money then you should look into Karndean flooring, this is basically the same as amtico but at a much lower price. I have used this many times being a kitchen/bathroom fitter and find it an excellent type of flooring, you can find it at most places that do amtico and like I say, there is not much difference in quality.

My mate fits tons of it, It's essential that its laid with Amtico adhesives etc. If it lifts later or you have any problems Amtico won't be any help. Expensive but very hard wearing, expect to pay 70-150 pounds per sq,m.laid. depending on pattern/borders etc. Also a perfect subfloor is esential.

i had 'amtico' african slate vinyl tile put in on the floor. it is soo beautiful. everyone who has seen it can't believe it's not natural slate.

Yes, it's good quality stuff, but make sure you put it on an even surface.
