Someone said this:

"First, you had better understand what an advocate is. It is like being a lawyer. You represent whomever you are defending. Now, if being a devil's advocate is not supporting the devil, what is it?"

My question is this:

How can a person be THIS stupid, and yet somehow remember to breathe at regular intervals?

OMG, there were TWO of them:

"Who gives a crap..advocate means one who argues or pleads for a cause or a proposal..so what are you pleading for the devil with your educated self? that takes a lot of smarts."

soulsister, go find a dictionary and USE IT.

If you open a book other than your bible, then from time to time you might LEARN something.

Okay, take a few deep breaths.

It will be okay...

Remember that one of these people just might be an emergency room doctor or nurse. And you could end up in an automobile accident and........

This isn't helping is it?

Oops.

I play the devil's advocate quite often and to be honest I rather enjoy the debate and getting folks to look at things in another way. I sometimes even do some good when they realize things are not always as they seem. Since I seem to be blessed with this skill and God gives out blessings, then doesn't that mean that God wants me to be the devil's advocate?

Devils advocate is a common term for presenting another side to whatever. Surely, these people have heard that expression before. Right? You happen to be a person who initiates thinking. How can that be wrong? Unless, some one has a problem thinking for themselves. Huh!

It is Sat. night, where is the DA?

LOL, the bible should include a passage on breathing regularly, otherwise people probably wouldn't bother. On the other hand, maybe a little brain damage makes it easier to accept religion.

I hate answering your questions because you always send nasty e-mails, BUT . . . the definition of advocate is - one who speaks for another; a lawyer who pleads a case in court; to speak in favor of or recommend. These definitions are straight from the dictionary. How can you call someone "stupid" for interpreting your ID in reference to the definition of advocate? I didn't read your previous question (pointing out what "devils advocate" is), but I can see how others can interpret it as a Satan supporter.

By now you've seen my answer.

And being in a group where Satanism is discussed, it is only fair to point out that erroneous assumptions may be made about your nick.

Don't hold it against them. Easier on you and your poor head ;-)

A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.
