maybe they should make a separate category for uneducated, ignorants like you.

I don't understand why you say that pit bulls aren't real dogs. They are from the terrier group. An old English proverb seems to fit the pit bull. " Give a dog a bad name, and hang him. The virtues of the dog are his own, his vices, those of his master." For nearly a century, this breed was accepted as a valued family pet. It had to be watched around other dogs, but not any more than other breeds. In the 1970s the public acceptance was changed. An often wrongly accused pet became public enemy no. 1.Pit bulls can be almost anything. They can be poorly bred pit fighting dogs, poorly bred American Staffordshire terriers, or poorly bred Bull Terriers or mixed dogs of some bull breed heritage. The American Pit Bull Terrier is a great and misunderstood American canine treasure. A breed of dog that has conquered more obstacles than any other dog in the human-canine relationship. A breed that many consider one of the best all around dogs to ever exist, a breed with a long and distinguished history as one of the gentlest of family pets, the bravest of war dogs, and defenders of children. He's strong, powerful and loyal. You need to get to know these dogs for yourself. It's obvious you haven't met one. Remember "the Little Rascals"? The dog that was on the show with Spanky and Buckwheat was an American Pit Bull Terrier. They were bred to fight other dogs and any aggressiveness toward humans the dogs were destroyed.

So I guess the presa canary dogs that mauled that woman in California are not real dogs either??
I guess the Airedale that killed the baby at grandmas house in Kansas. They aren't real dogs either.
I guess the two rottweilers that killed that little boy at the school bus stop aren't real dogs either.
So what category should they be in.
I guess Cocker Spaniels being classified as the number 1 bite dog doesn't matter either? What category should they be in? Think several years back they to had a horrible reputation.
I am so sick of people lumping pit bulls into one category. OK lets ban them all. They are not going anywhere and I hope you are not thinking some stupid law is going to keep them out of your city. Dream On
And if they do people will get another breed of dog and make it just as mean and vicious. This is an owner problem not a dog problem.

Where are you coming from saying that Pitbulls aren't real dogs?
Any dog can be trained to be an attack animal (for example Dobermans, Rottweilers, German Shepherds; even small breeds can too though they wouldn't do as much damage as a larger breed).
Pitbulls are great dogs when raised correctly.
I agree with everyone that says there should be a seperate area for all your nonsense questions though.

Pit Bulls actually make excellent pets. They, like any other dog need socialization with other dogs and people. They do however need a more heavy socialization with other dogs. Any responsible Pit Bull owner will tell you that these dogs require a little more work but when raised appropriately they are very very good companions. The problem comes into play with the greater number of idiots that own ill-mannered and unsocialized Pits. I have seen plenty of pint sized pooches that if they were the same size as a Pit...there would be a public outcry against these dogs too. But beacuse they are little, no one seems to notice the small bleeding wound. As with everything, you must take half of these questions with a grain of salt. Most people ask stupid questions that start with 'my rabid pit bull' are just that...STUPID!

can you define attack animal?
So how come Pits are not dogs again?
oh, wait..... because you never took the time to get to know a well bred well owned one?
Maybe it is the people you associate with you should judge not the breed. After all, when you see a bratty kid you say what bad parents, right? same concept.

Actually they are real dogs. Have u ever saw one? Or do they not exist in your idiotic, underinformed, bias, judgemental world?Did you know that in most dog attacks where they say the attacker is a pit they say that because they dont know what the dog is,or perhaps it was a Bulldog or a lab.. maybe they dont know how to really classify a pit. get a life f*ck bag.

They aren't "real dogs"? How silly. There are several breeds within that pitbull classification. Our area banned them. Ironically, the dog bite statistics showed no one breed outnumbered another, for bites on record, however, small dog breeds accounted for the vast majority of them. Owners can ruin any breed of dog.

They are real dogs, and they aren't attack animals. Any animal or dog breed can be trained to attack from pit bull to golden retreiver. It is all in the training and up bringing... just like children.

I currently own two pit bulls, they are very sweet and loving dogs. That was a very uneducated statement, any animal mistreated has the potential to be considered attack dogs. My two are treated with with a firm yet gentle hand and are awesome loyal protective loving companions.

Pitbulls are attack animals?!?Maybe you should do a little research...In canada, out of every 100 dog attacks, roughly 4 are by pitbulls.not only that,a poodle, a chow chow, and a shar pei are more likely to attack than a pitt.
