The gall bladdder is underneath your liver. In most people the liver is on the right side, so the gallbladder is on the right side. Actually if you have "pain" from your gallbladder either from Cholecystitis (gallbladder infection) or gall stones, usually the pain radiates to your back and upper shoulders. (my wife had gallstones and I'm an MD). If you have pain in your righjt side, then one would think of appendicitis, or "gas". Left side, "gas' or stomach ulcers. In any effect, if the pain persists you should go to the ER or see your MD in the morning.

Good luck.

Your gallbladder is on the right. If you have stones you'll know. Some symptoms are sudden diarrhea and extreme pain. I started having attacks when I was pregnant. I even went to the hospital once because I felt like I couldn't take a deep breath without pain. It hurt to stand up straight. It came on suddenly. I was told it was gas. The attending was so patronizing telling me pregnant women get bad gas. The next couple of times it happened I waited it out. Finally after the baby was born I had another attack. It was so scary I was alone with a 2 week old in the middle of the night. I couldn't even call out for help. That's when they finally diagnosed it. When my doctor lightly touched my side I felt as if I would jump through the roof. If you are having attacks call your doctor. They should give you a sonogram to see if there are any stones. They can also give you medicine that will help reduce the symptoms.

Your gallbladder is on the right side. The pain comes in different ways. I didn't have right sided pain or nausea or any of the nasty symptoms I've heard about. I had pain one morning when I took deep breaths. I thought I had pleurisy or something. Turned out to be my gallbladder. Only had pain that one day. Had the mini gallbladder procedure about a month later. Piece of cake.

Please see the webpage for more details on Gall bladder, gallbladder disease, gall stones, cholestasis and gallbladder removal.
Gall bladder- a pear-shaped pouch on the undersurface of the liver. Its function is to store and concentrate bile, which comes from the liver through a cystic duct and is delivered to the intestines through the common bile duct. Since the liver also discharges bile through this duct directly into the duodenum, a diseased gall bladder can be safely removed by surgery without impairing bile flow. The gall bladder is subject to acute and chronic inflammations, usually in conjunction with gallstones.

It is located on the right side of your body. A "stone" attack will cause pain on the right side and can rotate to the center of your tummy area - around the belly button, to your back on the right side, and up to your right shoulder area. You can also have nausea and vomiting. If you start to run a fever contact your doctor. Remember that your appendix is also in this general area as well. Also, a kidney stone may mimic this attack as well.

Yes, your gallbladder is on the right side, but so is your liver. I think it best to see your dr. before you decide for yourself what is wrong.
