What happens when a person dies? Answer is found in Ecclesiates 12:7> "Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was; and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it". Meaning the body turns to dust again and the spirit goes back to God.
Do good people go to heaven? Answer> "All that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth." "David is both dead and buried and his sepulchre is with us unto this day." "For David is NOT ascended unto heavens."
How much does one comprehend after death? >"Ecc.9:5,6 "The living know that shall die: but the DEAD KNOW NOT ANYTHING, neither have they anymore a reward; for the memory of them if forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they anymore a portion for ever in anything that is done under the sun."
"The dead praise NOT the Lord." Psalm 115:17
Can the dead commuicate with the living?>"So the lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall NOT AWAKE, nor be rasied out of their sleep." Job 14:12
"Neither have they anymore a portion forever in anything that is done under the sun". Esslesiastes 9:6
What about Heaven or Hell after death? ok. Heaven first. >"Behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be." Revelation 22:12
"The Lord himself shall desend from heaven with a shout, and the DEAD in Christ shall rise first, and so shall we ever be with the Lord." 1Thessalonians 4:16,17
"We shall be changed, in a moment, in a twinkling of a eye, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible; For this corruptible must put on incorruption and this mortal must put on immortality". 1Corinthians 15:51-53 ******Here is plainly say they will be rewarded and raised up and be given immortal bodies. They will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. There would be NO purpose in a resurrection if the PEOPLE we taken to heaven?? Think about it?
People DO NOT go to HEAVEN or HELL when they die. The Bible CLEARLY states the body returns to dusts and "sleeps" unto the Lord comes to take us home in the 2nd coming of Christ. The Dead No Not anything. If the dead were in heaven as stated before, why would Jesus come back and the graves burst open and the dead in Christ rise first? That would not make any since. It would be like yanking the good people back out of heaven and putting them back in the graves for the 2nd coming of Christ. Which would of course be cruel and of couse is not going to happen either. Just stating how stupid it would be is all. Just read the Bible and it is all there. The dead are asleep in Christ and are NOT in heaven or hell or limbo, etc. There are in the graves just as the Bible says. I hope this helps my friend, I pulled out all my refeneces on this one. Plus I study religion and history.

I remember the story entitled New Year's Sacrifice by Lu shun in which in the story a character asked to a certain scholar if there is heaven and hell.Or is there a life after death. Since,it was not taught yet in the school he prefer to say;I'm not sure! to escape from responsibility. The next morninig he knew that a widow was died.So questions and doubts came into his mind;what is cause of her death. But I would'nt do what the scholar did in the story.
In regards with your question;I would say have you tried to questioned your faith because your faith can answer.Jesus comes back to judge the living and the dead in the last judgement. Spiritually, life of human composed of body and soul and each one complements to each other. But it doesn't literally means that persons soul will rise or the body will rise from the tomb.Try to understand this;Jesus will come back same as He ascended into heaven on this you can find the answer.
tnx.

According to ancient Christian doctrine, the souls of the departed experience a "foretaste" of heaven or hell - whatever they will experience after the Last Judgment. Then at the Last Judgment, when the general resurrection takes place and souls are reunited with their bodies, the person will experience in full either heaven or hell. We can't really know exactly how these things take place or will be experienced by the souls of the departed - as St. Paul said, eye cannot see and ear cannot hear the things that are in store for us. But these are the teachings that have been passed down by the saints from ancient times.

To my understanding after studying, you will be immediately judged before God's Throne in His presence. The Book of Life will be opened by an angel and if your name is found then you will be able to stay in His Kingdom (Heaven). But it is not found then you will be cast out into the Lake of Fire (Hell).
Later though Jesus will judge the whole world and the dead shall rise and be judged if they were given an opportunity to know Jesus or not, and of course the rest of the world.

Paul speaks in 2 Corinthians 8 about "being absent from the body and present with the Lord". At the moment of death, the spirit goes either to heaven or to hell. The spirit then has no more influence in the physical realm (on earth). Someday Jesus will return and at the point the physcial bodies will be resurrection (recreated) in a form that will not longer know pain, sickness, death, or desire sin (Read 1 Corinthians 15). The earth will be recreated and God will move His throne from heaven to earth. So we will again need physical bodies to be able to contact both heaven and earth. At that point those who have rejected Jesus, as well as the place called Hell, will be cast into the lake of fire.

When a person dies the soul goes to judgment right then. There are 2 judgments. One for saved people and one for lost people. The saved go to the judgment seat of Christ, and the lost go to the Great White Throne judgment of God. When Jesus comes back we will receive new glorified bodies. That is what will go to heaven. I hope that helped.

First of all, you are a soul, you don't have a soul, so, when you die, the soul dies. Then, you remain dead until the resurrection--if you are part of the first resurrection, which has already begun, you are immediately resurrected to heavenly life where you will rule as a king or priest with Christ. If you are to be part of the second resurrection, you remain dead until after Armegeddon. The wages for your sins have already been paid by your death, so there is nothing to judge you for until after you are resurrected. Jesus will judge you during the 1,000 year reign depending upon how you react to righteous rulership.

Denominations believe different things. My religion teaches that the moment you die your soul goes straight to heaven or hell. Your body is just an empty carcass. Lazarus died and went straight to heaven but could not see into hell and I think that is what this belief is based upon.
Then, on judgment day, the soul is reunited with the body, which will be whole again. I don't see the purpose in that, but whatever.

When a Christian dies, we go to be in the presence of the Christian God (we could call that heaven)... and those who reject Christ (and live in disobedience to God) will to a place where they will experience the Just negative consequences of their actions on earth... (we could call that hell)...
Check out the parable of Lazarus and the Rich Man in the gospels... Lazarus experienced heaven, and the Rich Man experienced suffering (after both of them died; and before the Judgment)...
After the Judgment, the book of Revelation indicates that God will create a whole new universe (new heavens and earth) where there will be no more suffering...
Cordially,
John

When u die you undergo Particular Judgment. This means you will be judged individually for what you have done. At the end of time you receive Actual judgment. Everyone is judged all together. After actual Judgment those going to hell go. But before that they suffer Particular punishments until the end of time, when they are Judged Actually.
