pretty sure I'm running latest version, i just installed from website a couple of weeks ago..

Likely memory issues in terms of how IE handles Flash. Could also be a mismatch in the version of flash on the PC vs. the version of flash used. Try upgrading flash first and maybe add memory to the PC second.

One more suggestion - install the latest Java Runtime Environment and ensure that IE is using Sun's Java rather than Microsoft's Java. Microsoft's Java is notoriously very buggy. You could also download and install Internet Explorer 7 Release Candidate 1 and see if the behavior is improved - but understand that you're dealing with buggy software.
