Doe he really have a choice about taking her in? A lot of places are offering "family" bathrooms. They are 1 toilet and mom or dad can take in son or daughter. I work for a MR facility and we use it when or residents need changed or toileted. They are great and more places need to get them.

A way around the uneasiness is have dad see if the men would mind covering up til he gets your little one into a stall. or have her "play hide and seek" while daddy carries her in very fast.

Another option would be to ask a female employee to assist your daughter. I know I would have never minded. But then there are still a lot of weird people out there.

I have done this myself and most guys stalls are as clean as the ladies room its just a question of steering her directly into the bathroom stall with out her looking about to much . I think it all comes down to supervision My daughter at 6 years old need to go to the bathroom at a hot rod and drag racing meet I held her hand called out that I was entering with a little girl and then went straight in even at that age she went to the toilet and never bothered any one so I cant see that a 4 year old should be a problem you may find some one that will carry on but for the most part no one bats an eyelid over a parent doing the only thing they can to help natural processes happen

I've been in mens bathrooms, out of desperation, I've found that the majority of them are disgusting and filthy. I think you ought to let your husband allow your daughter to go into the womens bathroom, it isn't dangerous, quit believing everything you see on tv. He can wait right outside the bathroom and if she takes too long, he can go in and assist her...all he needs to do is give a warning to the women inside. I wouldn't have my little girl in a pissy disgusting mens bathroom unless I was holding her 3 feet over the seat.

In Australia we have 'Parents Rooms' in most shopping centres/malls. It has change tables for babies, comfortable chairs for breast/bottle feeding and a large bathroom that will fit a pram or stroller inside with the parent.

If you dont have them where you are from then he needs to lift your daughter up, cover her eyes and rush into the mens restrooms, into a seperate stall and let her do what she needs to do.

I wouldnt allow my child to go by themselves. In Australia recently a little 7 year old girl was raped and murdered when she went to the bathroom by herself, all this happened in 10 minutes. Your husband is doing what he has to do if there is no other option available.

If your in a decent place, the mens rooms are usually as clean as the womens. Especially the stalls as a lot of men don't use them. PLEASE do not send her in a bathroom by herself. You don't know who is already in there, and if they want to hurt her, you wouldn't know it till she didn't come out. By then the person would already be gone. It happened to someone we know. It is not a lie or a story. This grandmother was taking her grandson on a trip, she let him go unsupervised into a mens room. When he didn't come out she went in and found his throat cut. They have never found the person who did it. I would rather subject my child to a little dirt than something far worse.
Women routinely take little boys in the womans room, there is no reason why dads cant take their daughters in the mens.

Yes, it is perfectly acceptable for him to take her into a men's bathroom, and probably a lot safer in this day and age, than to let her go into a women's restroom alone. And yes, they have toilets she can sit on, just like in "real people's" [women's] restrooms : )

When my daughter was small, I would ask
a female to escort my little girl to the bathroom
most times they are happy to help you out. Most
Men's rooms are filthy.

My girls are already all grown up but I did what I thought was best for them. There were times when I would ask a friend to take them to the potty when their mother wasn't around. They knew if they were to go with me, they were to go potty before we left. Last but not least, when you have to go, you have to go. There is nothing wrong with taking them to the men's room.
