Grew up with Pepsi and switched to Classic Coke just to see what all the fuss was about a few years ago. Pepsi now tastes "salty" to me.Now that I have diabetes, I'm supposed to stay away from real sugar drinks, so when I indulge in a soda I like the diet, caffeine free Coca-Cola (in the gold can and sort of hard to find--figures). And yes, I sometimes throw in a slice of FRESH lemon or lime when I want to feel exotic. There is a fake taste to the "lime" version, I think.
Did hear recently that regular Coke, Pepsi contain 1 tsp of sugar for each ounce of soda-ie: 12 ounces of a regular soda will have 12 tsp of real sugar in it. YIKES! That's about the same amount of sugar you would use in a cake recipe.
Jeez, first too much sugar in your favorite soda and now SPINACH could be hazardous to your health. Is nothing sacred??!!
Certainly, this has to be more than a million times this particular question has been asked...

Coke or Diet coke with a slice of fresh lemon or lime. The Lemon or lime has to be fresh because the coke with lime kinda has a fake tast to me. Plenty of ice and served in a ice cold glass.

They're so close that I hate it when people say they LOVE one and HATE the other. I agree that there is a bit of difference. To me Coke is a little too sweet, but it's close enough and not worth a fuss. ;o)
