First off it was Daniel not David. Secondly, because it was God's will. Who are you to question the Creator about who lives and who dies.

It was Daniel - not David. And who ever told you that every Christian thrown to the lions died? That is absolutely not true. There are several martyred saints in the early centuries of the Christian Church who were tormented in various ways, including being thrown to lions and other wild beasts, who were not harmed by those tortures and ended up being killed by the sword when the other attempts to kill them did not work.

Daniel survived the lions den the same way we survive the world today. FAITH and PRAYER will deliver us all from the lions of today.
When you are tempted by satan, don't you have faith and pray you will be delivered?
Daniel also had a lot more work to do in the name of God. He showed by this action that all it takes is the believe that God will be our rescue.
People try to make God and Jesus more complicated, but nothing about our Lord and Savior is complicated at all. You are to go to God as a child. All believing, no doubt.

i think you are talking about Daniel
Daniel 6 19 Then the king arose very early in the morning and went in haste to the den of lions. 20 And when he came to the den, he cried out with a lamenting voice to Daniel. The king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?”
21 Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever! 22 My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you.”
this was the will of God for Daniel.
The Christians who chose to be torn apart by lions rather that deny Christ were a witness to non believers, as a matter of fact the more thrown, the more converts. Think about it, if so many were willing to die for their faith, isnt that faith probably true?

In the same way that the other disciples died, by hanging upside down on a cross, burnt on stakes, thrown in barrel of hot tar, died by the sword, except for the disciple John. He was exiled to the island and it's there God gave him the book of Revelation. God ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are not ours. God's divine will and purpose must come to pass. Don't try to understand Him only trust Him.

It was Daniel not David. God sent one of his angels to shut the mouths of the lions for Daniel. Jesus said we would not be without trials and persecution and that we should follow him even unto death.
