i have had the same problem and it got so bad to the point that my hair was falling out. So i went to a salon and had a deep treatment conditioning done on my hair and it worked. The only thing that they told me not to do was dye my hair or use harsh chemicals on it for about six months. so try that if you want and see how it goes, good luck!

The only thing you can do is condition and keep trimming until all the fried hair is gone. One of the best deep conditioners is by Goldwell, I can't think of the name, but it is in a small bottle with 2 liquids that you shake up and then apply. This product really helped my hair that was fried by a bad highlight job and a summer in the sun. Another great product is by Phyto -deep conditioning masque. Phyto isn't cheap, but I think it is one of the best products out there.
Don't bother with drugstore stuff to fix your hair. You need serious salon products. When you apply, comb thru and then wrap your head in plastic, or a plastic food storage bag, then put a warm towel (dampen a towel, heat in microwave) around your head, I then put another plastic bag over that to keep the heat in. You may need to reheat the towel a couple of times, leave it on for 30 mins, wash, rinse and condition. You can also try heated olive oil. Don't make it too hot. Use a paint brush, brush it on your hair, parting to get to all the hair, then do what I said above. If you can, get some glycerin at the pharmacy and add a tsp. or so to the olive oil. Always rinse your hair with as cold a water you can stand, it closes the hair's cuticle.

Also, try not to wash your hair everyday, if you have to, try to let it dry naturally. Blow drying and hot irons really damage the hair. If you have a really good cut, you shouldn't have to. Always use a leave in-treatment before heat styling.

Again, I am not a huge fan of drugstore products. The shampoos usually have Sodium Lauryl Sulfate in them, you don't want any shampoo with that in it. The better quality shampoos have sodium laureth sulfate in them. There are some natural shampoos made without it (Giovanni is one). Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is very harsh, some people believe both SLS and SLES are harmful, I don't know, I just know the SLS is more drying.

Also watch the alcohol. Some products need alcohol to work, but, you don't want it in your shampoo or conditioner.

Good Luck! I hope this helps!!!

try using Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray. You can find it at almost any store where they sell other hair products and make-up, etc. It works great! Just mist your hair with it before you use the flat iron. It will protect your hair from completely frying it.

My hair has some highlights and stuff in it, but I use this very good conditioner. It's called Loreal Nature's Therapy (It is a Mega Moisture nurturing cream). It's for very dry, chemically processed hair. It softens, nurtures, and moisturizes. It's a classic salon product, it's about $12.00. It's a thick cream that you evenly spread out on your hands, rub it into your roots and then spread it out evenly to the ends of your hair (make sure your hair is towel dried before you do it). Leave it in for five minutes - after that, rinse. You'll see and feel the results instantly.

Take a look at the websites for more information.

- - Just so ya know, I use both of these products and they work very good.

Source(s):
* Tresemme website for the heat tamer spray:

http://www.tresemme.com/products/show_product.cfm?pid=47

* Loreal website for the conditioning cream. You'll see it near the bottom labled like this: Loreal Natures Therapy Mega Moisture Nurturing Creme. It's definately worth the cost - and it's the cheapest, sure way of getting your hair back to healthy:

- - If you don't want to order it online, ask your stylist where you can find the previous listed items. You should be able to find the Tresemme product at stores like Target, or Sav-On, places where they sell hair products and make-up.

- - YOUR BEST BET FOR FINDING BOTH ITEMS IS TO GO TO YOUR CLOSEST HAIR SUPPLY STORE - LIKE SALLY'S (BASICALLY, IT'S THE PLACE WHERE YOUR STYLIST GETS THEIR MATERIALS FROM).

do you straighten your hair everyday? that could have something to do with it.. try not straightening your hair for awhile and pulling it up loosely.. then go get your hair trimmed if you have split ends which you probably do. then use pantene pro v restoratives (all of the products) and when you think that your hair is healthy enough again... go back to straightening you hair and use a leave in conditioner and USE A HEAT PROTECTION SPRAY that is so important it REALLY helps and make sure that you dont straighten your hair everyday.. thats really bad protection or not.. your hair needs a break sometimes lol...

I have a revalon straightener and it works just fine. But the only thing is that you cant leave that staightener in one place or obviously you found the out come. And for your hair either condition it realy good or cut off the hair that fried. Or see a hair stylest for more complete anwsers

don't straight your hair every day I've told this to so many people if you do your hair all the time it gets bad and ugly try doing it when it get fuzzy or even every other week or even on Mondays and don't do it for the rest of the week wash you hair on Wednesday
but since your hair is fried wash you hair back to normal and don't do it for a long time until you hair is back to normal and that is

Try 3min. miracle By aussie. It is a deep cond. and it has worked for me before. Make sure you put some sort of product in your hair BEFORE you use the iron. and if all else fails you have to cut it off. If it is truly fried then nothing you will do will work

You need to use good hair products because when you heat up your hair with a straightener your burning the proteins on the outer part of the hair, which is not good if you want it looking good.

Use a shining product on your hair, check the ingredients, the first few listed should be cyclomethicone, dimethicone, or another methicone. Make sure it does not have alcohol in it. Check out the hair polishers in the ethnic section, they work better and are a little cheaper. My hair looks like crap without it. :)

put a good creme conditioner in your hair when you wash your hair
and when you straighten it, only go over it once with the heat
it will get the hair really hot at just one time and if you do it over and over it again will make it really crazy and frizzy
if you wait for it to cool down, you should be able to go over ur hair again without it frizzing up
