ok this is incredibly silly but, a new guy started at my job monday. the first time i saw him i was checking him out and actually did a double take and i saw him looking back at me. every day since that he walks by my desk (which is only twice per day) and we both catch looks at each other but neither of us have spoken. so today when i was leaving i walked by his desk and he says to me "have a good weekend". i was really nervous so i turned to him and i said "oh...thanks" then i just sort of stood there and walked off. i cant believe i acted like a 14 year old kid scared to death. so now this guy probably thinks 1. im a b*tch or 2. i'm not into him. any ideas on how to fix the situation? i am really shy and was really shocked he spoke to me and was just nervous. what is the best thing to do now so that he knows i'm interested? i report rude and/or pointless answers. thanks!

waymuch the only reason i added that on there is because sometimes little 13 year olds try and be cute and leave little sh*tty answers to questions. pointless...

Crystal, don't panic, you handled it perfectly. What else would/should you have said??? You gave the perfect reply to his polite comment. The fact that you turned to him and replied got the message across to him.

Just make sure you continue, add more conversation as he adds more. And don't forget to be the best employee in the company. He'll notice even more. Good Luck

Don't get down on yourself so quick. At least you spoke and said thanks. On Monday go up to him and ask him if he had a good weekend. Sounds like he's interested or he wouldn't have talked to you. Just relax and try again next week. I'm sure he didn't think anything about your answer. I'm finding out that we girls read a lot more into things then men do.
Good luck and just think you've got all weekend to think of something nice/cute/sweet to say to him on Monday.

I'm shy too but a smile also says a thousand words. Good luck

I am sure he realized that you were just shocked that he talked to you and if he is good enough for you then he will not think anything other than that. Just pretend it never happened and talk more next time. Maybe you could even be the one to start the conversation.
