cause they are actually the Hamburger patty's which is a little different from the beef burger meat.
Like you can go to the store and buy packs of hamburger or you can buy the beef patties. (Beef patties are usualy the cheepest route and most people can tell by the taste. LOL)

I suppose the reason is based on the diference. Beef patty refers to only that flat piece of beef meat while beef burger refers to the whole burger itself, including the meat, bread, salad, cheese, sliced tomatoes, etc (the content depending on which country McDonalds is operating in). And of course beef burger refers to that specific burger with beef meat. If you order a beef patty, they might give you only that flat piece of meat, but I don't think it's their policy so they will still give you a burger. Or if you insist, they might still not know it, just like some workers can't understand that half dozen units and 6 units are the same.

The term /beef burger/ is actually incorrect. The term 'hamburger' comes from the name of the German city, Hamburg, where this food was invented. This may be why.

Because it probably has more fillers than beef if they contain any beef at all I think it is mostly scrap meat.(left overs from the cow).
