It doesn't cost that much to have a baby in a hospital. My children were both b orn by c-section and I had to stay in the hospital a few days longer, and neither of them cost more than 7-8,000.
Believe it or not, most of the expenses that you are charged for are for care for the mother. Of course this is for a typical child birth with little to no complications. For twins it would not cost that much more. The extra things that you would be charged for would be testing that babies routinly get and any shots that the babies get.

No. The cost of having a baby varies upon how long mom and baby are in the hospital (before and after the birth), how much medication mom is given, before and after the birth. How much medication the baby gets also - some babies have a lot of blood tests when they are in the hospital. I know that the bill for the birth of my oldest girl was about the same as the birth for my youngest girl. Stay times were different and my oldest didn't require a lot of blood tests, but my youngest did. I was in the hospital longer with the oldest than with the youngest. Everything depends on what happens from the moment you are admitted until you leave. Good luck.

The cost isnt doubled. There is your cost, which generally runs about 5-10 thousand depending on your labor. Then its between 3-8 for the care of a baby. Check with your insurance company and hospital to see what you are looking to pay before you deliver. There are many ways to keep the costs down by letting your health professionals know what you do and dont want....they will charge you for everything even if you dont need it.

No, the charges are you being in the room, medications, nurses taking care of you & the babies. There shouldn't be any additional charges unless you are charged for the nurses being with extra baby time, but that shouldn't happen. Basically, you are being charged, not the children. If you had 5 kids, you would still just be charged the $20,000.00

its alittle more because most of the time twin births are premature and require time in the NICU and you will be charged for double shots(1 set for each child)
