Good question. It always made me think of Buckwheat on the show "The Little Rascals" I should make a phone call to Quaker Oats company. lol.

I vaguely recall it but don't remember the manufacturer. If you can remember the company then try their website and and ask them.

They had to stop making them because blacks where offended by the name.
