Every type of birth control has some annoying side effects that you have to get used to. What you should do is, check out plannedparenthood.org, check out the birth control, they have all the information you need to help you decide what is right for you. I take the Depo-provera shot, I love it, many people hate it...that's what you'll find with all the different options when you ask women. You've got to look up each type, and see what you think will work for you.
Depo-Provera (depot-medroxyprogesterone acetate) is a shot you take every 3 months. It is one of the most reliable forms of birth control out there.

Read this link, it will tell you everything you need to know.
Personally speaking though I have been on various pills, you need to try out a few to see what is best for you. The down fall of the pill is that if you miss a pill or you are sick (diarrhea, vomiting)or take antibiotics they don't work 100% so you still need to use a condom.
I also used the Depo-provera injections. You get a shot every 3 months and in most cases don't get a period, which is a good thing. hahah. Although I tended to gain weight with it.
Of course I have also used condoms. I don't mind them but some men like to argue that it de-sensitizes the penis.
Read the information and then talk to your doctor and decide on the best option for yourself.

I used to take the pill, but Im over 35 now...so its out of the question. Its fake estrogen in your system, so you can develop blood clots. My friend got one in her lung after her Dr upped her prescription, a diff. dose. She almost died-she was in the hospital for a couple of weeks.
I currently use non-spermicidal (but lubed) condoms with my hub. They are actually kind of nice-we use Durex, thye are the best ones so far. The condom helps him keep his errection longer...without the condom, he gets really excited, REALLY fast. No fun! They have one with xtra pleasure, or some kind of long lasting errection blend, that one is good for those days when you really need it!
Those are my only experiences. Oh yeah, I tried the "foam" stuff and it turns out, Im allergic to the Nonoxyl 9-that's the spermacide. Its impossible to scratch an itch that's inside your body. That was a terrible thing to go thru.
One of my friends uses a diaprhagm, but you have to use that sperm jelly stuff...too messy.

YASMIN! I am currently on Yasmin, which is in my opinion the BEST BIRTH CONTROL PILL ON THE MARKET! I have been on it for 6 months. My acne went AWAY because of it!!!! It made my periods lighter and shorter! (I now have a 5-day period, Used to be 8-day before I was on Yasmin.) So, just ask your doctor to see if it is surely ok for you to take. My dermatologist actually recommended it because of the benefits of getting rid of zits! I use for birth control & zit control. It has a really GOOD hormone blend in it (hormones which get rid of acne and others that are good for me in terms of periods.) I highly recommend 'Yasmin'.

I love the Depo Provera. I'm really bad at remembering to take pills. I go every 3 months for a shot and that's it.

I'm on Ortho Evra, the patch, and I love it. Change it once a week. I don't have to think about a pill every day.
