"correct"? you pray however you're comfortable. God doesn't care *how* you pray. God doesn't need our worship. We worshilp God because *we* need it. God is divine regardless of our recognition.
There is no right way. There is no wrong way. There is your way, and there is the way of others. They're all ok.
Follow your instincts and be true to them because they are of God.

1 Cor. 14 lays out specific guidelines for the use of the Spiritual Gift of Tongues.
If everyone in church is speaking outloud in tongues during prayer time, great; as long as there is someone ot interpret.

And if someone comes to visit the church who is unfamiliar with the practice, it will seem like chaos, and disorder.

From what you describe, it sounds like that church is engaging in an unbiblical practice. But, I'm not there. You stay true to the scriptures and the Lord will bless you.

I am a Catholic and even I know the answer to this question is yes it is right. There are several gifts of the Holy Spirit and talking in tongues is one of them. They should be able to interpret it though too. It even says in the Bible that you should not pray in tongues unless there is someone there to interpret. (in a group setting--privately is something else)

Yes, its right.Tongues are for a sign to unbelievers. After Pentecost, people spoke in tongues. Its a prayer language.

Do you understand what they're saying? If not, why not? Why jibberjabber if no one knows what you're saying? I mean what is the purpose in today's world. I'm not gonna say it isn't possible because it is a gift from God, but 10+ people in the same church doing it...at the same time...in the same place...hmmm.

No because they aren't even using "tongues" the right way. In the bible it states that when someone speaks "in tongues", he/she is understood by all. Can YOU really understand any of that gibber jabber? Enough said.

P.S. If you need an interpreter to understand it, then it isn't real according to the bible anyway.

yes, there are times when it is perfectly fine to pray in tongues. Paul did it, and wrote about it in his Epistles. However, it should not be done all the time.
