As in, praying for something? Or is there a limit to what the universe can bring forth, even if remote to bring back (e.g. a person, an object, an event, etc.)?

Can wanting something badly enough eventually bring it forth? Or does God select what to bring forth and what to put on hold -- perhaps indefinitely?

Paul

I'm mainly talking about sincere desires and wishes that would bring true happiness.

I don't think your praying is going to make any difference. If you really want something you should work for it.

Yes - its called the Law of Attraction.

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." Matthew 7:7

The rub is that it applies not just to prayer but to every thought and desire we have. So it we have millions demonstrating against war - we have war. If we have a war on terror - we have terrorist rising everywhere. If you have fear, things will happen in the world to keep you fearful. If there are us and them - there will be a lot of them in the world.

Who needs terrorist if we have our press.

So yes you can pray for money, success, good health, or whatever you desire but it won't necessarily bring happiness or contentment or what you truly want or need.

A consequence of this law is that the world is exactly as we all desire it to be. It may be hard to believe but think about it. Thus the best prayer would be : "Look not upon my desires and vain imaginings but upon Thy Will". "Thy will not mine be done." And hope more of us mean it in our heart of hearts.

(Of course, you have to believe in a God that is loving and just; wants to bring nothing but harmony and peace to the world; and only what brings true happiness and contentment to our lives. It would also be cool if we all were knocking on doors and seeking what is His Will for this day even if we thought we knew what that Will was. Then Answers could be really giving answers! OK - I am a dreamer.)

Hope this helps.

You wouldn't want a person to come back. It would beagainst the law of nature. To want things to better your life and others and mean no harm I see know reason why not Read the book Ask and it is Given learning to manifest your desires by Esther and Jerry Hicks

If you're talking about someone who has passed away, there's nothing you can do to bring him or her back.. you have to accept the fact and get on with life.. And i do believe in power of prayers.. sometimes we fail to see what is best for us and God will make the decision for us.. The truth of God's love is not that he allows bad things to happen. It's His promise that He'll be here with us when they do.

Obviously not unless the majority of people are praying for war, starvation, disease and all manner of ill fates to be visited on humans and the world.

I have been praying for lots of money to get out of debt. I have not received it yet. I have received healing for an extremely painful nerve disorder. I would say that was more important.

Jesus said, "If you seek me, you shall find me.".

He said, "Abide in my Love & my Word, ask what you wish, and it shall be given unto you.".

There is a catch. Abide in His Love & Word. Seek His Word in the Bible. Be born of God, love renewed in the heart.

TJMiller, Ask God & receive it. When you have the assurance in your spirit that God hears, you know that if He hears you, you can receive it. Get the confirmation in your spirit you receive it.

Nope. No matter how badly you want it, no matter how much you pray for it, no matter how many spells you cast...

Nothing just happens *just because* you want it to.

Now...

If you are willing to work for it, study for it, make connections, and strive for your goal ceaselessly --

-- THEN things will happen.
