I think you're asking the same exact question Lucifer asked himself while He was in the presence of the Almighty God. Eve asked herself that same question when she was offered fruit from the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden.
Don't be deceived by perfection on earth. It can not be obtained. Don't be saddened by that fact either. Read the bible. Get some biblical knowledge under your belt and let God speak to your heart and literally show you perfection....Himself! He is real!

I believe that we are created beings. That would imply of course that there is a creator. A creation can never be the creator. Can a painting become a painter?
I believe that when man (mankind) was first created, (Adam and Eve that is), they were created perfect. With God being perfect and man being perfect, they were able to walk together in the garden where the man and woman lived.
Unfortunately, through a series of events that began with Satan tempting Eve to doubt God's words, Adam and Eve sinned against God by taking and eating the fruit from the tree that God said specifically not to eat.
That ended the perfection of mankind. We have all been flawed ever since. Sin is not only acts that defy God and his laws, it is also a condition that all of us are in. We have no way of regaining our perfection or regaining the possibility of 'walking' with the "Perfect One". Sin is so serious that it takes nothing less than our own death to pay for it.
Remember, God is perfect. That means He is perfect in every way. He is perfect in love. He made a way for us to be able to walk with Him again. Please read the book of John in the New Testament in the Bible.
Can we be God?? No. Can we be with God?? Yes. Pursue this.
Can we be perfect?? Not on this planet. The world is stained with sin. It has left nothing and no one untouched.
As I said before, read the book of John and go on to read other new testament books such as Romans.
Pray and ask God to reveal Himself to you as you read. He will help you understand.

Obviously we cannot be God, for we are creations, part of this world, at least in bodily form. God transcends this world, he even transcends time, for He establishes the beginning and the end.
Only one person is God, Jesus, but He did not become God nor was he ever man alone, He was always God but for a time humbled Himself as a man, that is a part of our world.
Colossians 2
9For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.
Paul put it best in Romans that we are all condemned by the Law and fall short of the glory of God, but through Jesus we can be made righteous in His eyes, and reflect the glory of our Lord.
Romans 3
9What shall we conclude then? Are we any better? Not at all! We have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin.
10As it is written:
"There is no one righteous, not even one;
11there is no one who understands,
no one who seeks God.
12All have turned away,
they have together become worthless;
there is no one who does good,
not even one."
13"Their throats are open graves;
their tongues practice deceit."
"The poison of vipers is on their lips."
14"Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness."
15"Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16ruin and misery mark their ways,
17and the way of peace they do not know."
18"There is no fear of God before their eyes."
19Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.
21But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.
22This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

No. We are not God and it is a lie from the devil that we think we can be. Humanity is capable of a great many things, both good and evil.....but perfection and godhood is a deception at the very least.....

When we reach Nirvana our actions become perfect, in our emptyness we become incapable of anger or hatred. We do not become a god though, quite the opposite really. We cease to exist.
