Is this harmful? What should I do?

It was dead. A black widow has to bite to cause damage, because when it bites it releases venom into the system. Call your vet if you are real concerned though.

Only if you used a pesticide that killed the spider. The dead critter your dog ate isn't harmful to him/her. If you want to check for yourself call a veterinarian in the phone book.

You should not have anything to worry about. The spider being eaten should not harm your dog. Ingesting it is not the same as being bitten. Antidotes for poisons are wven made from the poisons themselves. If you are still worried let him/her drink some milk and it will help coat his/her stomach to minimize any absorbtion of poison.

Ewww,I think it's harmful and i don't becuase it seems like it would have to be alive for it to produce the venom or whatever it's called, but if it's dead it's still some poison still in it some where,so maybe you should call your vet.

Try this:

Crack three eggs. Whip them and feed them to the dog right now. Along with that give the dog one chocolate Ex Lax portion, not the whole bar. With any luck the dog will barf up the poison, or the Ex Lax will cause it to poop it out quickly.
