One of the things I came to realization about life is that it is so unpredictable. I used to think my life is invincible but after having gone through several near-death experiences and witnessing young people's lives cut short by car accidents, illnesses, heart attacks, I began to have different perspective about life.
I want to live every day like it is my last. I want to live my life to the fullest every day. That way, when I leave this world, I will leave without any regrets.
But it really is easier said than done. I try hard for a while but easily go back to thinking mode by saying to myself, "I tried enough. I don't need to try this hard. I need some fun and enjoyment in life."
How do I live every day like it is the last day of my life so I can be proud of myself at the end of each day and don't feel like, "I could have done more or better?"

i always make sure my underwear is clean and matching in case i get hit by a bus and have to go into ER and the doctors laugh at my sloppy, slobby corpse. however, i sometimes wonder whether the shock of the impact might cause me to mess myself anyway. then all my effort would have been in vain...

I think what's really meant by that is that you should make each day matter. Don't take one second of it for granted and if it really was your last day, how would you treat the people in your life. Don't ignore them, or push them aside for something trivial you know? Who cares if the dishes aren't done when your kid wants you to spend some time with them. Take that extra moment and do something kind for a total stranger, open a door, smile even...there's a sight you don't see every day.

My upstairs neighbour here sounds like a real charmer no? *S*

Just do your best on everything u set your mind to, don't answer rudely, tell the truth (its always more fun n brave), help out even when u r not required, listen to people (everyone has something to say n no one to listen too). Have fun, don't be so uptight, n break those thought n action boundaries that u may have. Or just think about the phrase, "What Would Jesus Do", he is to be know as the ultimate Seize the day man.

What ever u do, it must be things that make u think, If I die today, would i be happy.
So Carpe Diem (Seize the day) my friend.

You lower your expectations to match reality and live each day to the best of your ability.

My only goal is to leave the world better each day than I found it. That may be something as mundane as picking up garbage from my yard, or may involve doing something more dramatic. But, it is the intent that matters more than what is actually accomplished.

The main thing is to be happy with yourself so you can be happy with others.

As a practical matter, this may be my last day on earth. And if not, that day is not far distant in the future.

Why bother with the what ifs? Just live it to the best of your ability. Stop and smell the flowers, Take a walk in the woods and be greatful for the time that your are experiencing right now. Smile. Laugh. Call somebody you love. Nobody gets it perfect, so why should you? Accept yourself for who you are and accept everybody else for who they are and celebrate today because as far as anybody knows, that's all we really have anyway.

It's hard. You have to be in the moment at all times. Try to "experience" everything you do and try to really enjoy it. If what you're doing sucks, then do something...anything that you can feel and experience to the fullest.
And experience the people you meet. Look them in the eye. Really cherish whatever it is they have to offer, even if it's just a smile.
This sounds really corny, but if it was my last day, that's what I'd do. I should do that every day anyway.

Well, I think you'll always feel like you could do more or do things better. I just live everyday by waking up and knowing that it's a new day... a new start. You'll continue to grow and learn with each passing day. Nice way to live your life, I'll have to start living life like it was my last day too!

I count my blessings, appreciate the free and beautiful things in life, and don't take my loved ones for granted.

Nobody ever said, on their deathbed, "If only I had spent more time at the office...".

If I lived every day like it was my last, I'd have no clean clothes because come on, who wants to do laundry on the last day of their life?
