Yes. Asking about Evolution shows an interest in the subject. Asking about Evolution vs Creationism shows the interest in the debate, similarities and differences in the two.

And for your second question, no, I don't think it's all that important that inquirer show a genuine interest in the answers because sometimes, a question alone will get people to think about an idea and where they stand and it just might change some people's thinking for the better.

In my view I do agree with the two other answers in that there is a difference. I see when one asks about evolution only a starting point in the reference dictionary and the an attempt to cover each defined position of the single word.

When a question about evolution vs creationism I see again a first look to the dictionary at the definitions. This must be followed by a comparison of the different positions from the two views in evolution and creation or creationism. From this comparison may come the discusions or debates.

Now in respect to asking a question and then the asker does not show an genuine interest in the answer, I must ask many whys.

Why ask in the first place? What was the motive? Is the asker just trying to fool others? Is really the question designed or disguised as a teaching session?

I have found so many questions that the asker does not even bother to consider the answers or does refuse to select a best answer from his view. I do admit at time there are more that 1 good answer to a question that I did ask and the selecting of a best is hard, but I do make a choice if at all possible. I do admit I did miss a couple because the time did expire and I could not get on line in time but I did vote on an answer OK.

No I am not perfect, but I do think it one is not interested in who and how a question is answered, he should not ask in the first place.

Yes there is a difference. Just asking a question about Evolution as a concept belongs in the science section. Asking about it in relation to creationism as an alternative theory to creationism belongs here in R&S. It's the comparison with religious theory that makes it appropriate to this category.

Yes I think when you ask a question and people take the time to answer (although not all do with serious intent) then the questioner should show respect and have interest to what was said back to them.
