In Ireland the Irish language, as the national language, is the first official language. The English language is recognised as a second official language.

No, I wish I did being that I was named after the country and I love Irish accents. Maybe I should look into learning Gaelic, looks pretty tricky though. If you've got an Irish accent, you don't need pick up lines, the accent is enough. Works on most of the Australian women I know!

Um, as far as I know, Irish people speak mainly English, and sometimes Gaelic....there's no language called Irish.
