Some think this is a "messed up question".
Even some(professed christians) think this is not true.
Some wonder "where you get this from".
Others just don't know.
Then there are christians that DO know what you mean.

But YOU believe the record.
In fact, according to our Lord; YOU ARE RIGHT!
Our Lord says in John 15:18-23:

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before [it hated] you.
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore THE WORLD HATES YOU.
Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.
If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.
HE THAT HATES ME, HATES MY FATHER.

Where did you get that from?
From the recorded words of our Lord Jesus.

You accept this, all christians accept this.
Where there are those that choose not too, they are free to do so.

Continue to press on brother. The reward is great!

Peace

Oh yes, I have been attacked many times. Shakespeare said it quite well when he said in that play "Methinks thou dost protest too much" Just ask any Catholic. They know that what the world hates is Holy. There is no other religion today attacked like the Catholic Church. From both without and within. A great Saint was once mystically shown a town with 2 demons sitting at it's gates and then he was shown a monastery that had demons just crawling all over it and he said "What's up with this? How come there are only 2 demons for this whole town and all of those on the monastery?" He was told that the town didn't need more than 2 as they were perfectly able to sin without the demons help but, those guys in the monastery---well they needed all kinds of temptation. Yes, the Holier something is the more the evil one likes to mock it.

Be cautioned that this is not an acid test to determine whether a Christian is on the right track.

A Christian may not have living faith and believe him- or herself to be saved, and go around murdering certain doctors. The world tends to hate that sort of thing, and the world is justified in that hatred.

That is, sometimes people are persecuted because they are just; other times, they are prosecuted because they are not.

If one is a Christian and is hated by the world, one best be sure that he or she is regularly seeking God's--not his or her--own will. Because while it is true that the world may hate a Christian because of his or her faith, it is also true that a world may hate a Christian criminal for his or her crimes.

Ever notice that the first group of answers are always answered by the people who have about a pea's worth of intelligence? I am not surprised that they don't believe in God. They don't believe in anything that involves research, time, or reflection. They act before they think.
Yes, I have had several experiences with this in my life and so has everyone else. The world does hate us because this is not the life intended by God; there is stress, grief, disappointment, betrayals, and such. We are of God, we were created in His image. Therefore, our only true peace comes from Him.

I have been listening to Pastor James McDonald lately and he was talking about reproach for Christ. It is true. We are hated by "men". "They" hated Jesus, they will hate us.

Now, let's talk for a moment about people who are Christians, but would be hated even if they weren't Christians...do you dig? I have really done some character correcting after reading some of the Christians on Answers. You really see the true heart of a Christian when their belief system is challenged, ya' know. It really causes me ask...."What Christ are you serving anyway, becuase there is so much hate in your heart".

I was at a pro-life event and as a car slowly drove by, the passenger leaned out the window and hurled a stream of obscenities at me. I immediately thought of the book of Matthew. I think it is 5-11 "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and say all kinds of false things about you." I know the idiot was trying to discourage me, but instead my faith was strengthened. They really are very ignorant things.

The world hates Christians? Where did you get that little tid-bit of information?
I am non-Christian, I am part of the world and I do not hate Christians. I am certain I am not alone with this train of thought.

For some reason, the world has never hated me. I must be on the wrong track.

remember this, The Common people of the World lovd and accepted him. I was those that were religous that hated him.

Our beliefs sometimes cause us grief, but we cannot change what we belive, but do like Jesus give the message in love, kindness, compassion.

The world will probably more and more hate us but the self righteous already do.

yes i know all about it, i carry my bible to school and i see how the kids in the halls just look at me and i can see what there saying on there faces, "look its one of those christains we better not talk to him he will talk about God". Also theres those that will actually get mad that your christain and to me it burdens my heart to know that people think that, because when you think about it all those people that think that are pritty much lost, and i want to tell them all how they can make it to heaven but theres some that think they can make it on there own. the devil is the one thats making them feel that kind of hate towards christains because he at one time was God's greatist creation till he commited the sin of pride and said that he would be second to none he would be like God, then God cast him in to the lake of fire. Now the devil wants to destroy man because we are God's greatist creation now, thats why he wants to corupt our souls and life, and by doing so he turns us from God and his people. as you quoted it talked about how they would hate christains, and to some they just want to make it on there own. but the bible says in 1 john 5:12 "he that hath the son hath life, and he that hath not the son of God hath not life." so i would rather be a hated person that is right with God then to be a liked person that will spend the rest of my life in hell which is the second death.
