Oh, gee, this is a tough one because naming one's pet is like naming one's child. It's very much a matter of personal preference but, still, you should try to get a name that "fits" the breed and, hopefully, temperament.
Names that my family has used for male dogs in the past:
Sultan (pronouned the Spanish way- Suel tahn); Rambo; Rex and Bobo.
My Pagan boyfriend wants to name his next dog "Satan" or "Diablo" just so he can freak people out.
What are your hobbies and interests? You could name him after a sports team or after your favorite musical group.... or a song. (My dog Mandy was named after the Barry Manilow song.)
Do you like movies or books? How about naming him after a character you like? That's how my dog, Elektra, got her name (the Jennifer Garner character in the movie DAREDEVIL and the movie ELEKTRA).
Just pick a name that doesn't sound stupid when you yell it or which has negative associations (Osama).

Sounds like a black dog.
Names relative to black:
Obsidian, Ebony, Blaque (pronounced like black but with a cooler spelling:), Cobalt, Coal/ Cole, Charcoal, Smokey, Ink/ Inky, Jet (as in jet black), Night, Night Sky/Skye, Shade, Thunder/Thundr, Smoke, Onyx, Blacke/Blackie/ Blacki/ Blacky, Blacksheep, Kosmo/Cosmo, Galaxy, Steel/ Steele, Angus, Batman, Blackjack, Soot/Sooty/Soote, Ashes/Ash, Harley, Rock, Stone, Rocky, Radar, Boulder, Titan (if he gets bigger), Thor (god of Thunder), Jackson/ Blackson, Hogan, Sir Knight/Sir Night, Diesel
etcetera
Put up more information on your dog.
Eye color, personality, breed, weight, Coloration (patterns or markings), age. you get the picture
and for those calling the dog fat, unless it is a small dog, 50 lbs is not that fat. My 1 yr old husky puppy is about 50 lbs, but almost solid muscle and not very fat.
